Air Force! I am a Navy vet...see the world, from inside a gray steel box for months on end. Marines get way too shot at. Army is expendable. Air Force you can serve your country and its as close to being a civilian as you can get! Just don't expect to be in the .05% that are pilots.

Well having served in the U.S. Marine Corps I'm partial. The Navy has the best food, if that matters at all. It just depends on where your interests lie. Each branch has its strengths. The Coast Guard is the smallest branch and hardest to get into, and is primarily domestic. Very few leave once they're in. I enlisted in the Marine Corps because I knew I was going to be drafted(during the Vietnam War) and I thought I would be better trained for combat as a Marine. But, the Volunteer Army is so much better trained with better morale than it was then that both are good choices if your goal is to serve in combat. Good Luck and keep asking questions. There are much better sources out there than me. I don't know a lot about the Air Force except that Airmen could wear their hair down to their collars, and that it provides some of the best high tech training in the world. A freind of mine was a math genius and that's the branch he chose.

I would take your time and review the free brochures and videos that all the services are offering, a rush decision based on on what someone else wants isn't sometimes the best answer. I know the Marines do a lot of combat oriented missions but army does similar with spec ops groups and such.
Take the time to ask the military recruiters different questions and like the Army says be all you can be.

I want to say Navy for civilian jobs look at the navies website and a friend of mine told me navy's basic isn't that hard if your in good shape. But if your more a tech guy and wanna go that rout Air Force but it's the hardest to get into.
Here's what each branch has if you get deployed.
Navy-best food and travail.
Marines- turn dollar power to military power don't have that much funding like the army so they have more rifle training, but when you come out you'll have abs and a lot of pride for the military and your self.
Army- the biggest of the branches more training on a more verity of guns and more boom toys.
Coast guard- if you like to swim this is for you they have more search and rescue but you'll probably be stationed one the east or west coast of the USA.
Air Force- hardest to get into but more tech trained and better living conditions as far as housing goes.
Best is all up to you look on each of the branches web site to find out which one you like more. I'm more biased on the navy but hey that's just me. And good luck on which one you pick.

Maybe looking at historical facts will help you decide. Let’s take the recent Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. The Marine ground did 4% of the fighting, Marine air did 2% of the fighting, Air Force did 4% of the fighting, Navy did 4% of the fighting, and Army did 86% of the fighting. If you’ll thinking infantry then consider multiple deployments. Next, if you’re going to make a career in the infantry then know that Marines averaged about 15 months of deployment and Army averaged 33 months of deployment. Choose wisely.

To answer your question on which is the best military branch.
This question cannot be answered. If you asked a sailor he would say the Navy of course. The others would say the best is the service that they are in.
Do your research and go with your heart. All branches have a great deal to offer.
Good Luck to you on your search.

The Marines are the Best military unit, the marine corps history proves that they have won a billion bizaar battles with unbelievable odds, but the actuall regular job as a marine, no matter what job you pick in the corps, SUCKS. The Army, I dont want to offend anyone, but I was always told Marine are stupid, and they are, but I was a Marine and worked with the Army a lot on Joint task force missions...they all have down syndrome. I see them make choices that get people killed too. The Air force really spoils you and takes care of you by a lot, most people never want to get out of it, (thats why its the only branch thats hard to get into sometimes), but it can be boring because face it, how many airman are actually pilots? The navy I cant give a good opinion on, and the coast gaurd....nah.
As far as not wanting to be a Marine because you couldnt get a job in the real world, not true. I just got out last June. People will sometimes hire a marine with no college over a person with college (sometimes) just because its impressive you were a marine and the toughest of the tough. Hope I broadened your horizons...

The best branch to go into as an officer would probably be Air Force. You usually stay Inside the US. and if during war time you can usually conduct it from inside the US. Unless of course you become a Pilot, the best job they have. then you will be all over the world but still inside your own little bubble (literally) with your friends right next to you. So in all respects you will never be away from home.

I would say the army becasue I have heard that the army is beinging to be less hard on there troops and they give you great benifts like buying a new the car dealer ship will give bout a 2,000 dollar discount. So I would say the army is the best cause they give you health insurance and you get great discounts on cell phones and sometimes fast food even. And there is a lot more discounts and if you are a officer you can make up to 150,000 grand and you start out at 85,000 as a officer hope I helped. And good luck future solider.
