when a friend of mine tries to install a game into her computer(she has win xp home serv pack 2 )she gets this 16 bit windows subsystem and under it it says windows/32system/auto exe.net this system file is not suitable for running msdosµsoft windows applications.any suggestions?thanks

the game runs on her other computer fine and it has windows xp the disk says compatilbe with windows hp.also its a brand new game

The easiest is simply inserting the Windows XP CD into the CD drive and clicking start --> Run and entering:


expand X:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt

Replace X:\ with your CD ROM drive letter.

Pls check the Game's help or read me file. It probably is not meant for XP. Moreover many Games r developed in DOS Environment and XP/2K has limited support for DOS. I am sure this game will work in Win 98.
16 bit screen error can be removed by changinh the screen resolution settings to 32 bits or higher, but since u r also getting a Ms Dos error, i don't think tis game is meant for XP.

some old games are created for the 16 bit platform. XP is using a 32 bit platform so may not be able to support that game properly. i encountered this problem several times. believe me, it'll work perfectly under windows98..

slightly previous due yet by no skill improve to Vista wait till you purchase a sparkling gadget and that is pre-put in. in basic terms google the mistakes code and that is going to take you to an internet site the position that is going to inform you waht the code skill and hoe to fix it (if plausible)
