My cousin is getting married and she is debating if she should have a chocolate fountain along with the cake at her reception...what's your opinion... yes or no? If no what else should she place for a dessert?
If yes she wants to serve - strawberries, raspberries, bananas, cherries, and biscottis…any thing else she should try severing.
Thanks

all I can think of right now is YUMMY!! I'm going to have a chocolate fountain at my reception also, I would say though that the raspberries might be a little tough to cover with out them falling apart (but I could be wrong) My sister has a chocolate fountain and we serve these items and they are always a hit:
Strawberries (of course)
bananas
Pound Cake squares
pretzel sticks
small rice crispy treats in little squares
plastic spoons with a small amount of PB on it
small sugar or butter cookies
cheese cake cut into squares
When all else fails just grab a spoon and dig in :) Have fun with it, don't worry about people saying it's messy. Let your guests decide if they want to try it out and if they dribble at least they got something yummy dribbled on them :) Besides I think they look really pretty and everyone gets excited when they see one. One little tip is you might want someone to monitor it cause little ones like to dip their fingers :) I even heard once that this woman picked up her son and let him open his mouth to let the chocolate pour in and they had to shut it down cause something about germs :) people never cease to amaze me :)
Good luck and have fun!!

My friend was married last fall and their reception hall threw in a chocolate fountain as a bonus and it went over big. They had strwberries, biscottis, grahm crackers, marshmallows, pretzels, bananas, ...and at least two other things that I can't remember. There was someone that kept it maintained (refilling bowls, making sure there were napkins, toothpics, paper plates, etc.), and it was very nice.
HOWEVER! There were only a few children invited to her wedding so there were only a few people that had to be very carefully watched around the fountain.
Also, someone will need to maintain it, and since her reception hall threw this in there was no charge, but if your cousin is going to request it, that might be an extra charge.

My sister had a chocolate fountain at her reception this last April and it was a BIG hit!!! It looked very elegant and everyone seemed to enjoy it! They made a very tall centerpiece out of fruits (using toothpicks to hold them on, which people used to dip the fruits in the chocolate) and then there were plates on the table that had other items (marshmallows, pretzels, biscottis, etc.) Pineapple was also good... pretty much anything can taste good dipped in chocolate! :) Best of luck!

They are always a great hit, but can be very messy. If the caterer is providing the fountain, be sure to find out whether or not they maintain it throughout the reception - keeping it filled, keeping the mess to a minimum, refilling the dippers, etc.
Other things to serve with it - marshmallows, pretzels, sugar or shortbread cookies and graham crackers. Bananas are by far my favorite dipped in choc! :)

I had the two a chocolate fountain AND a marriage cake. via fact I had the two suggestions, various cake, and various fruit became into left over considering i think of human beings did no longer relatively consume the two. They the two had the cake or the chocolate lined fruit! it is basically to plenty candy stuff. additionally...i did no longer have various infants, and that i spotted that those that I did have went nuts for the chocolate fountain! They theory it became into relatively cool!! if your cousin does have the chocolate fountain, i might propose she in straightforward terms get strawberries. I had an entire determination of end result inclusive of bananas, nectarines...etc. The strawberries have been quite often eaten, however the different fruit wasn't touched. A chocolate fountain is style of costly, so i might propose in case you do get one, get an exceedingly small one. Oh....I additionally offered a coffee bar at my wedding ceremony so I had some Italian pastries offered. issues like biscotties, mascarpone cookies and in my view rapped chocolate sticks! those went relatively nicely via fact human beings ought to take them abode considering that they had guy or woman wrappers. So i did no longer sense they have been a waste of money. Take my suggestion...it is solid to have a 2d wasteland decision besides the cake yet do no longer circulate overboard...it's going to be a waste of money. a minimum of it relatively is how i've got self assurance approximately my chocolate fountain! solid success!

I'm not a big fan of chocolate fountains. I don't like community foods in general, especially not at a wedding.
Dessert is usually the wedding cake - Personally, I'd stick with that and just make sure that the cake is dynamite. : )

I don't see the problem with having a chocolate fountain. They are yummy as long as you get good chocolate for it. The only problem I have with it being at a wedding is that it could get messy. I mean the chocolate drips if you don't catch it with a plate right away. And all those people in beautiful gowns and suits. And if there are going to be children there, sticky figures! You don't want one of them running up to the bride in her white gown.

Not sure where you live, but my bridesmaid and her husband have a chocolate fountain company called the Chocolate Well and they service the Sacramento/El Dorado County area.
Here's a link with some ideas of food to dip. And I think you can email her with questions too! Enjoy!

guests love chocolate fountains. they are a little overdone these days though. (don't forget marshmallows and graham crackers if you do it :D)
something more original would be a sundae bar, or gourmet coffee station w/ a barrista to serve. or she can have a dessert display w/ tons of mini cakes, tartlettes, and petit fours. you could even have a dessert crepe station where a chef makes the crepes for you w/ a filling of your choice. yum. it just depends on how much she has to spend.
good luck!
