mid 20's is recommended. I know it can start becoming dangerous at 35. but look at all the medical advances these days, we have 60 yr olds having babies and living through it. although they may not be around long for their kids....but then again, the average life expectancy is much longer than it used to be. ages ago people used to start having babies as soon as their bodies were capable ( in their teens) then the life expectancy wasnt much past 40....times are changing....

I think whenever you are financially stable, and ready for the big change! I'm 21, I wasn't expecting to become pregnant, but I'm still extremely happy! 35 is when it starts to become dangerous. There is a better chance the baby could have down syndrome, and the chances increase every year after that. By the age of 50 there is a 1 in 25 chance the baby will have Down syndrome. So I think the ideal age to have kids would probably be 25, or around there.

Ummm...if you HAVE to have kids, then probably around thirty and after you have developed ALOT of patience and have spent alot of time with kids of all ages. I started early and had them too close together. IT IS SOOO HARD. If you are smart, you'll just skip that part of life. I love my kids but there are days when I feel like I am living in a crazy dream. Think hard and long and get experience. Its not so much about finances either, although you have to have some money, they are just unpredictable. And after about 36, it becomes dangerous to have kids, my aunt almost died at 41 years old, and now she has a really hard time just keeping up because of the problems that come with aging. I hope you the best though, and only you know whats right for you. Thanks

On the front end, from a purely physical perspective, the more fully developed the girl the better. Among other things, their hormones can still be fluctuating which effects healthy pregnancies. Teens who aren't finished maturing physically have more chances for complications either to themselves or the baby. Of course, there's the emotional issues for kids having kids, but that's a different subject.
On the other end, women are at their childbearing peak until about 40. However, women having their 2nd+ babies in their 40s have less risks than women having the 1st baby in their 40s. Even then, technology has reached a point where the risks for having babies in your 40s is pretty minimal.
Of course, women have had babies in their 50s but they are certainly the exception to the rule and require careful monitoring.

It all depends on the woman. There really is no "dangerous" age to have kids, but after 35 the risks of birth defects increases.

I would say the best time is in your 20's because when you get in your mid 30's the risk are higher for birth defects and miscarrige....also women are born with all the eggs that she will ever have.... you if your 35 then your eggs are 35 years old..and 1(sometimes more then 1) is released every month!

No earlier than early 20's and your risks of birth defects rise at 35 but i think women can have babies as long as they want and can get pregnant, waiting to long and not being able to get pregnant is a risk they are going to take but i think its fine for a woman of 50 to try and get pregnant, even with fertility drugs, she is the one who has to be pregnant and care for the baby.I would wrather see a 55 year old pregnant than a 17 year old any day.

Now a days, IMO, woman are starting too late. There are certian exceptions like if the couple had a hard time conceiving. Physically the best time to have kids is in your early 20's. It gets tricky in your mid 30's, especially if it is your first kid.

at 35+ the chances of genetic abnormalities such as downs increase, it is therefore suggested by doctors that genetic councilling may be useful. After 40 there is also a higher risk of miscarrige and fertility problems in general
22-26 yrs is perfect as mother ought to be very fertile and physically fit, not just for pregnancy but also for motherhood
