I am not an authority on credit cards, but if you live in the uk, you can get money changed for free at the post office. There is no commission charged at all.

You can't on a credit card.. you pay a cash withdrawal premium whether it is in your home or a foreign currency.
use your charge or debit card and they may not charge commission First Direct & woolwich are best on this..

if you use your credit card use it to BUY objects or services not cash!!

I have a euro account (as well as UK). I go to a UK hole in the wall and it translates at todays price, ergo no charge. In euroland it spews out euros anywhere. As for CREDIT cards forget it. Thyey are in the business of screwing you any which way ............
