Well, it could be several things.
She could be bleeding internally.
She could have Worms.
She could have eaten something that has punctured her stomach.
She could have a ruptured ulcer.
She could have a number things, all of them are very serious.

Keep trying the vet, if there are no signs from her outer skin, it would definitely be the rectum. The bloating is from something probably logged in the colon, which the doctors will find through x-rays. Keep her quiet until you can get her to the vets office.

All the answers given are good ones. There may be a simple solution but I'd take her in right away and sit there waiting until the vet shows up from lunch! Is she on heartworm medication? Mine had a problem like that and it was hookworms. Good luck!

I agree with all the answers given but there is a possibility that when she was being spayed, the doctors removed only her uterus and not her ovaries. That means she is on heat but she will not become pregnant even if she mates. The bloating might be caused by a thing called "phantom pregnancy". A female looks bloated and pregnant while on heat.

There are too many things that it could be to answer your question. You'll just have to wait till the vet gets back from lunch.

As for the shots next week. They are not necessary.

No idea what it is.... she may have eaten/swallowed something that perforated an intestine.

I would take her to the vet immediately... it's better to sit there with her than to wait to talk to them over the phone.

Good luck!

It's probably a parasite..dogs get bloated when they have parasites and that could cause the bleeding also.Do you have an emergency vet??If so take her in!!
