When you get the pill from your doctor she'll either tell you to take it the Sunday or Monday following your period. From that day until you have finished the whole months worth of pills you are not protected. After you get into your second pack of pills you are fine.

One month is correct, but depending on how much you weigh, you need to be sure that the bc you're taking is high enough in dosage to work. BC comes in different levels of the hormone(s) that prevent pregnancy. If you are obese, you may need a higher hormonal dosage.

i believe it's a whole month so a whole pack of pills. that's not 100% that you won't get pregnant yes it helps prevent kids but not to 100% so still be careful.

It depends on which kind you're on. The doctor should have told you, but if they didn't read the instructions that came with your bc.
