Empathy is the ability to view something in a manner as nearly as possible , similar to the way in which another being views or experiences the same thing. It has nothing to do with spirituality. It is a capability very useful to bring people to-gether, unifying them with a purpose (of any type of consequence). Spirituality is about taking our level of awareness to a deeper level of consciousness, thus leading to experience of newer dimensions of life, by attempting to go beyond nature !

Yes, always. But people are not perfect. They need forgiveness and that comes from spirituality...EVERYONE suffers from the consequences of OTHERS. No matter who or what walk of life we choose, we are GOD'S children. WE together need to form a bond of empathy and spirituality for support and lasting peace and love.......

I am not sure but I find that I have more than others. I can feel peoples pain and anger and frustration sometimes and it bothers me. Especially when they are trying not to show it. Although I feel it physically it must come from somewhere spiritual. I only recently found out not everyone can feel empathy the way I do.

To have empathy - to experience another's pain or joy is the very core of most spirituality.

No. One does not need to be spiritual to feel empathy. Even babies feel empathy and they're too young to have been influenced by religion.

I would say yes.There have been many times the Lord has allowed me to actually feel what another person was feeling.I would have never known the anguish they were feeling if that didn't happen,then I was really able to help them.That has happened to other Christians I know too.You are better at helping that person and praying for them.

No, it's just thinking about putting yourself in the other person or animals place...I have a big problem with this when I put down mouse traps...I find it most disturbing but I still go ahead and lay the traps.

Yes it is. Because you put yourself in another person's situation and you see it from his/her point of view. If there's anything more divine in this world - its being able to understand and be understanding.
