I have various puddles in my basement that me and my kids are finding. There is no leak in a floor board or pipe. Nothing leaking around it. These are BIG puddles, like 2-4 cups of water right in the middle of the floor. What could it be? I've already ruled out I think, everything...? It is water. Not pee, or anything else....
Help me try and figure this one out....What do you think?

No water coming up from the floor.
No water coming from a pipe above, or ducts.
No kids pranking me.
No rain coming in.
No way for water from my two window air conditioning units to come in.
Not just condensation, we are talking about a lot of water.
My basement is sealed, painted, and is generally pretty dry for a basement.
I've spent a couple of weeks trying to figure this out.....

I HEARD A LONG TIME AGO, THAT WATER IS A WINDOW TO THE OTHER SIDE. SOMETIMES WATER JUST SHOWS UP, LIKE COINS JUST SHOW UP FROM NOWHERE. IT'S ODD, MAYBE YOU SHOULD SET UP A CAMERA DOWN THERE AND YOUR QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ANSWERED.

Its either condensation or water is seeping up through your basement floor.
Check any exposed water pipes once in the morning - once at noon - and once at night. If you see ANY moisture on those pipes, your riddle is solved.
If thats not the case - are your floors damp most of the time prior to the puddles? Water can seep up through floors for a variety of reasons. Do you live near a lake or have a swimming pool that leaks? A water pipe under the house or basement leaking could result in this as well.
One needs to exhaust every effort to explain whats happening before chalking it up to the paranormal. Even so called professional Ghost Hunters say most cases are easily explained.

It could be condensation coming from the ducting running the basements ceiling. I have had that problem myself. Right in the middle of the floor. And I have had it too from the water pipes running the basement. Try placing a dehumidifier in the basement, that should help.

Before jumping to conclusions, call a person that you can trust that is a plumber or construction worker, who can help solve your mystery. The water has to be coming from somewhere! Do you clean it up every day? Is it alwary in the same place? You may have a pipe under the floor that has ruptured and is leeching into the spot, because that is where the rupture is....That is a serious problem. You would need to have it checked immediately. Good luck. Nana

Did you try to get a sample and have it tested? It might be dampness from the pours of the basement floor it's seeping through overnight. You might have an underground well underneath or oil???
I would call a plumber and see if they can figure out if there's something under the floor.

That is too much water for overnight condensation.
Depending on where you live. If you have had a lot of rain lately, the water table is HIGH. Water is against the earths surface and coming up through tiny cracks in your floor.
If you live in the country, and the water table is HIGH, this is why your lateral lines are very slow. Your toilet flushes slow, drains are slow.

Are they only in the middle of the floor, or are they beside the walls too? If they're beside the walls then it might just be what happened at my house a couple of years ago, and it's the spot were the walls and the ground meets that is leaking.

If it has been raining in your area, and there are cracks in the centers of these puddles, the water-table could've risen and seeped up from below. Or if not, you could have a poltergiest of a person who drowned, haunting your basement. Or, aquaman could be could be squatting there.

Are the puddles near cracks in the floor? -water could seep up from below.
If you have a video camera, I would set is up and film it at different times of the day or nite- maybe you can see what is happening.

Is your cold water pipe or the toilet above real close? Could be condensation and dripping from the pipes
