I felt very compelled to respond to this because it is something I feel very strongly about. As I was growing up, I was raised in a "full gospel" household. I was made to go to church every time the doors were open. There was no getting out of it. If I was sick, go to church and God will heal you. Having trouble? Go to church and God will fix it. Bologna! As I grew up and got married I still followed the ways of the "full gospel" church. Then one day I suddenly woke up. I realized that I had been raised around a bunch of hypocrites. My mother is still in church and one of the biggest hypocrites there. Everything I learned to do that was wrong, I learned it from my "friends" I made in church. I do believe there was a man named Jesus that walked this earth thousands of years ago. But are we to believe that he was any better than anyone else. Say a magician? If you read the bible from cover to cover you will find that it is no more than a story book written by different people. There are several contradictions in the bible. Not only that, but it was written many years ago in a different language and through the translations over the years has lost what the real meaning of it is. If there is a real meaning. If anyone believes in all this "church" crap, it is because they are missing something in their lives and need something to fill in that hole. I am perfectly happy with my life and I don't need a bunch of hypocirtes that suck you dry for money to make my life complete.

First off, there is a difference between a normal religious person and a holy roller.... I think maybe you should rephrase your question to "FUNDAMENTALIST CREATIONIST CHRISTIAN RIGHT"
ANnd as far as the existence or non-existence of God, or any other diety, when you get outta what your parents/school taught you and examine it on your own, you have the FREEWILL to pick any religion, or lack thereof that you feel is the true course.
You, my friend, seem to have picked Atheism, or Agnonsticism.. and that is fine, but others dont, and u have to respect that, as we respect that you do not believe.
In all my studies, and there have been many at the undergrad level as well as through high school, and all my philosophy course, I have come to 1 conclusion, 1 necessary truth.
There can NEVER be tangible proof, NEVER, so it comes down to FAITH... and I feel its better to believe and be right, cause even if you are wrong and there is no afterlife, God, etc... you still lived your life in a good way, and helped mankind instead of hurting it!
I know christians, catholics included have tried to prove the existence of God, to no avail. Ie. St. Thomas Aquinas's argument of design.. (argument of the existance of God) and what not.... but you HAVE to come to this conclusion... the golden rule is the basis for every major religion, so even if you aren't into religion, Just TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED, and you will be fine....

Guess what -- my experiences prove you are wrong.
I was raised by an atheist and a pseudo-Christian Episcopalian. I NEVER had any contact with, or held much knowledge about, the Pentecostal Church until I was Born Again a while back. I didn't go to church for about 6 months after I was Saved; but I noticed I understood things lots of folks didn't -- and I had no idea where the knowledge was coming from. There were many other things that happened that are outside the normal human experience, which I'm sure you'd use to taunt me. I will not reveal them here so as not to cast my pearls before swine ...
I was lead by the Spirit to a non-denominational church with many folks holding Pentecostal beliefs; it was there that I realized my experiences WERE NOT unusual. And because I had these experiences BEFORE I started associating with other believers, I was not somehow being controlled by "evil Holy Rollers."
There is only One God. Whether you believe that is your own personal choice.

Christianity is over 2000 years old and it exists all over the world. It is not a matter of where you were born or how you were raised. It is a matter of being introduced to the truth and accepting it. People are not perfect, but God is!
War happens because of ignorant, racist people like you. God help us all!

You must be kidding? You've got a few million people across the world that were born in extreme pagan cultures who have been dramatically changed by knowing Jesus and having the Holy Spirit in the hearts and lives. They are driven by their conviction and determination.
They suffer ridicule, abuse, beatings, and even death and yet they are not dissuaded. They know what it's like to have the presence of God in their lives and it has changed them for eternity. Better check your facts.

No matter what the religion, there is only One True God !! We seek him and all that he has for us. Maybe you need to seek him also. Your life would be much better if you did. Trust me, I have been where you are and didnt give a care, but when I changed my thoughts and began to worship Jesus and was saved and continually praise him for his love and dying for me, my life has totally turned around. Believe !!! I will also pray for you and you can know that "Jesus Loves You and so do I".

Did you ever consider that people "like you" were part of the problem and not the solution? Human beings are the problem. It is not because of Islam, Romans, Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, Pagans, Purple headed people eaters.....! It doesn't matter. We are at war with ourselves because human beings cannot get past their own fears and insecurities.

I'm so sorry you are so bitter and dont know the TRUTH.
I'll pray for you.
Dont stop searching for HIM, you'll find HIM!
....I also, agree with Born Again.........
It has nothing to do with where we were born and how we were raised. Everyone is completely different, with diff geographical locations, different upbringings.............
The truth being for every Christian out there is that the Lord speaks to their heart and they listen. That is all! If you dont understand, He hasnt spoken to your heart yet OR you havent listened.
Keep searching -- He'll be there in the end and final analysis!
