Because insincere people -- you, me, and everybody at some point -- need the fellowship of other Christians. Look at it like missing music practice; miss one church service, and you, the churchgoer, notice the difference. Miss two services, and you family and friends and others in the congregation notice the difference. Miss three, and your audience (e.g., people outside the church) notice the difference.
Romans 3:23 -- "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" -- applies to everybody, because every sin is an insincerity toward God and others. For insincere people to stay home may keep them from being confronted about their sin, but it also keeps them from growing in God's kingdom because that sin is a stumbling block. Only through the forgiveness which Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross and was raised on the third day to provide for us who sincerely ask can we be in true fellowship with God. That relationship spills over into all others that we have. When our relationship with God is going forward, all others are too, and vice versa.
Insincere people, if they're serious about maintaing a right relationship with God, have to go to church or the other areas of their life suffer as well.

Have you had a bad experience that makes you conclude that all people who attend church are insincere. If that is the case, then it is a pity because it is not so ... the people I have met at church are anything but insincere - I call them my `Church Family` - they would do anything to help me and anyone else who needed them. They have put so much into my life. Even visiting other churches when travelling abroad a warm welcome is extended - the bond is universal.

Church is for people who need help. Everyone goes through different levels of sincerity. I think the major difference between the so-called "good" people at church and the so-called "bad" people is that the sins of the good people are less visible. If only perfect people could go to church, the churches would be empty.

That would not be the answer. What would they learn from staying at home. Although they act insincere, the more they attend church the more they learn. Evidently there are there for a reason and please do not think the arent. There is a yearning for something inside them and stifling their yearning would be the worst thing to happen. Please do not judge them, it is not your place to do so. Only the Lord with judge them and as long as they are attending it is in their heart to seek him or else they wouldnt be there. Pray for their deliverance and to be saved and seek his love further. Thats all we can do....

First of all no one can go to church. They can go to the meeting or gathering of the church.
The people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are His Church (saved sinners).
We are all sinners. What better place is there to be for an unsaved sinner than to meet and learn about Jesus?

Sometimes I wish they would. They give us all a bad name. But there is a chance something in the service will light a fire in their heart, and they will be sincerely saved.

For the same reason people that don't drink go to bars... it's a social and networking club.
