I was in the school's cafeteria and a couple of just returned soldiers from iraq were telling their friends about it. Another guy said he did not get the point of the war and one of the soldiers said "f#cking iraqies were messing with us, so we went to blast them". Then I heard other things like "their ugly women" and "the kill business is good".
Was I underinformed?, at the beggining I had heard the war was called iraqi freedom.

SGTextreme is right. What you heard was a couple of troops telling 'war stories' for an audience.

I hate it when soldiers do that. As a former soldier and a leader I use to bust their *** for that. The thruth is I am affraid to say that soldiers are people too, and some soldiers think that they look good talking like that. Please know that not all soldiers talk like that. From my experience it was usually low ranking soldiers who were no where near any real action, or were not important enough to know more then they were in Iraq, they are just bragging to get people to look at them. I was in the first Golf War and to me the second one is just a finishing of the what we did not do in the first one and that was help the people get rid of a horrable leader so they could have a better life. The truth is that most Iraq's were nice to us when we were there, and some of the women are really beautiful.

It is called Iraqi Freedom and us being there is to secure their freedom. Sadly our soldiers are spread so thin and not really being able to trust Iraqi citizens I supposed has made them shell shocked you have to remember that they are soldiers and yes granted a couple of their statements were disgusting, but they are there not me. If it's any consolation an Army Sgt. told me that he was pleased at how the the Iraqis welcomed the change of freedom and are happy that they are there.

I've been there. Let me clear this up for you.

We originally went in there because we thought Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Distruction and was working with Al Quieda to distroy the US. (We hang with Isreal. They hate that.) We went over there to stop Hussein from using those alleged weapons on us and to stop Hussein's reign of opression on his own people.

Their women are not ugly, but actually quite graceful, if a bit on the shy side (their culture does not encourage bold women). The unofficial motto of the Infantry is "Killing is our business...and business is good".

You were not underinformed. The problem has more to do with the soldiers you were getting your information from. They weren't giving you anything to really grasp. Mostly flash and bang.

Ok, look at it this way. You are in a museum and looking at the biggest picture in the world. Say it's 100ft by 100ft. To view the entire picture, are you going to stand 1inch from the picture or 20ft from the picture?
Now apply that to those couple soldiers. They may come back and shoot sh*t about not agreeing to the war, but they don't see the entire picture. The higher up the command structure you go(or further back when viewing the picture) the easier it is to see.

freedom!!!
its the American kind of freedom..by killing people (men ,women and children) by destroying everything in front...
believe me my friend: terrorists and criminals cant give freedom.
do u know the terrorist SADDAM HUSSEIN?
he was called terrorist cause he was preventing Israel from killing Palestinian and Lebanese civilians...
anyway everybody knows that SADDAM is the hero of freedom and that USA and Israel are the worlds terrorists and criminals.
