Well the red water could be from digested blood caused by fleas sucking her dry. Its great your taking them to the vet for thier checkup and shot......I thank you for being such a wonderful and responsible pet owner. When you bathed her did you see fleas? If not she could be having intestinal problems and I would be calling the vets as soon as they get back from lunch. I sure hope nothing bad is wrong. But considering the ages of Nibbles and Bits it could be something due to the age a new problem popping up. Your smart to contact the vet. Good for you. Thanks for being so responsible.

Go directly to the nearest emergency vet! This can be very serious!
Have her lay down, keep her calm. Give her water but no food.
You stay calm too, she can tell your upset and then she will be too.
How is she acting?
Is she her normal self or is she moving slower?
It may be fleas but hey better safe then sorry. If you get to vet and they say it was only fleas great but in case its not go to the vet!
We have 3 dogs and 3 cats.

Is she fixed?.....if so......VET NOW!!!!! If they have an answering machine with the time of return, be there waiting for them! Take some water and a bowl for her in case it is a somewhat long wait, don't sit on this!!! Better the vet tell you it is nothing, that to wait and have her die on you!

good luck

You need to just rush her into the vet now. That's what they'll tell you to do anyway when you talk to them on the phone. It's just better if you are already on your way there now. It sounds very serious. I would rush her in if I were you. Good luck, I wish you the best.

Take her to the emergecy vet imediately. She may have eaten a foreign object and it is tearing up her intestines, she could have an infection. I would not wait. Just worse case scenarios, I don't mean to scare you but it could be very serious.

Sounds like the flea dirt returning to blood once wet. Do you use flea topicals. Check very closely for tiny dirtlike flecks thru her coat. some people are oblivious to this and are not bothered by the fleas that plague their dogs.

Unless you visibly saw blood come from the rectum or vulva. I say fleas

Have you found out if its her anis??? If it is she could have impact anal glands. Small dogs tend to need their anal glands emptied out.do you feel bulges at about 4 and 6 o clock around the anis, don't be afraid to find out. I empty out my dogs glands. They can rupture and be very painful.

well if they are a girl and a boy she might be pregnant but she is probably just in heat where she can get pregnant but if the other dog is not fixed and is a boy dog keep them away from each other unless you want puppies.
