In other words, how do you know that when you are doubting it is because what you are being told to believe really doesn't make sense?

Is there a point where the answer 'god's thoughts are higher than our thoughts' just is not good enough?

Are you saying that I should just stop caring what the truth is and just go with the flow?

This is a hard one -- it's making me think!

The Holy Ghost can guide us to truth. Sometimes this happens when He gives us ideas we didn't have before. Sometimes he can make us confused about something that we learned, so we realize that it's wrong. It's very hard to tell this feeling of confusion from the everyday doubt that just includes part of being human, sometimes.

Here are some ideas that might help:
1. When I'm feeling anxious about something and I think it might be unnecessary, I sometimes say a prayer and ask God to help make it more clear for me. It's wonderful how quickly these prayers are usually answered.
2. Remember that the Holy Ghost gives us feelings of peace, joy, comfort, and love (See Galatians 5.) If you have a question, but you also feel a feeling of peace, that's an indication that the question is coming from the Holy Ghost.
3. You can also judge your ideas by the teachings of the prophets. If the idea that you're considering is inconsistent with the teachings of the prophets, such as in the Bible, you will know that the idea is incorrect. God is the same always, and His teachings have never changed. The Holy Ghost can confirm this for you as well.
4. Truth is accompanied by a feeling of enlightenment and making sense, as well as by the feelings of the Holy Ghost.

Keep searching for truth! Don't give up! I know that God is real and He can guide you to Him.

As long as you are questioning with a sincere heart to know the truth, you will find it.

Questioning is how we learn, and how we come to understand.
Question the bible, question others, question yourself, question god.

How can you learn anything if you think you already know it?

Sincere questioning can lead to nothing but good, even if it shakes the very foundations of your beliefs, and destroys everything you've ever been taught was right.

The point I decided was when in my questioning and desire to know the truth I was finally willing to trade everything I've ever thought I knew and all my familiar beliefs for the truth, whatever it may be.

Then I realized the path to the truth was with me all along.

I sense a deep desire in you to know the truth; don't let it die. Push on and search ever more passionately!

It's not ever guiding you to truth. When they tell you gods thoughts are higher than our thoughts, or if you can't see it, you must believe, that is the equivalent of saying "If you can't see it, put this blindfold on and now answer can you see it?"

I think that you need to remember that questioning is a good thing and if the answers you are given are not the answers you are looking for (because you do not recognize them as truth). Keep looking.

Irrational, primitive beliefs fail when confronted with the sheer lack of credible evidence to support them. Use your mind. Think for yourself. That is the essence of real freedom.

Yes. In fact I think the bible even says don't have blind faith. I think it's good to question what you believe in and research other myths and religions til you find one that gives you a good feeling and even then, keep reading.

You can either live your whole life in doubt of everything, in pursuit of something you can never have. Or you can accept things as they are and live in piece. :)
