I'm an athlete, and I've always been called thunderthighs since I was young. I'm 5'6 and wear size 6 jeans, but I want to fit into size 4. What can I do to make my thighs rub less against each other?

If you are an athlete, then you have muscular thighs (not fat ones), and if that's the case you won't be able to make them smaller. A large component of why your thighs are large are genetic. If you want "smaller" thighs, you need to change your exercise routine to one that concentrates on toning, rather than building muscle. Check with a trainer at your local gym. Don't worry about dress sizes. As long as you look good in them, then the number doesn't matter.

Why do people always leave out the most important information???

What kind of athlete are you??? what are your goals???

If you are a miler or less or a weightlifter, you ain't gonna get smaller thighs.

You may have to decide to give it up and go to walking for an hour a day 6 days a week. On the other day, stretch and do toning exercises for the upper body.

It also helps to stop eating bread, potatoes, pasta, carrots, corn, and rice. No sugar and no sodas.

Use cut-off panty hose or vaseline.

You may have to decide that genetics are playing a large part in this situation, and if your parents and grandparents had big thighs, you may never have very slim ones.

Good Luck

Other than doing exercises that target that specific area, I don't know. I have a similar problem. I'm thin everywhere except my thighs and I have lovehandles. I know that a lot of it can be genetic, though. I know that part of my problem is genetic and I guess fat just gets deposited in different places on different people. I've been trying to lose weight to help me, but it hasn't worked that well since that's supposed to be one of the hardest areas to lose weight.

You can try to focus on workouts stictly on your thieghs, but what is your reason you want to be a size 4, and you are a size 6. Keep some curves, just learn how to show them off with class not flash.

First and most important is to consider if it is genetics that your thighs are that large. if so nothing can be done. if it is fat weight try kick boxing or aerobics to cut down any fat tissue in your thighs. and if all else fails learn to like your thighs

First your size seems right for your height, so you're thin! Now, to slim down your thighs you can try speed walking and doing leg lifts. Avoid weighed squats and spinning at high intensity.

Geeze a size 6 is already small... you should just be happy with who you are. If you insist on losing weight, you can't target a spot.... you just lose it where ever your fat mostly goes. Anyway, just go to a gym and work out a few times a week for an hour or so.

Watch your diet, lift weights, and run. Finally accept that everybody is different. We can eat the same and do the same, but we have different metabolism.
