I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I am so nervous about a lot of things. I'm really trying to keep my cool, but I can't help but worry about the health of the baby, about whether or not I will properly bond with her, about my ability to know what she needs when she needs it, about breastfeeding, etc, etc, etc.

My husband and I are THRILLED to be having her, but I just can't stop worrying about everything. Did anyone else feel the same way with their first baby? I could really use some reassurance.

Thanks,
Mandy
Proud soon-to-be mommy (Aug. 29th)

i was with my first baby. but after the baby is here you get to know the different cries and habits of your baby. I think people from small families are more nervous. If your doctor hasn't said anything about your baby having something wrong , then your baby will be fine, ( my daughter hasd to go to NICU for 4 hours because i got my IV drugs late and she had trouble getting the drugs out of her system) But other then that she was fine. Breast feeding is easy after you get over the first week of pain JUst try to latch the baby right in the hospital ( make sure you get your nipple in the back of her mouth not just set in her mouth or you'll get chapped nipples) But i can tell you you'll be fine No body has all the answers before their first baby. But if you have another you'll be more at ease

I'm due August 27...
I know exactly how you feel!
yes we're supposed to be suuuppper nervous!
It's a good sign, the fact that you worry a lot now tells us all that you will be a great mother.

it's my first baby too.
I worry about things like what do I do if she has an imaginary friends, or what if I forget her and walk out of the house and how can I handle the sudden lifestyle change and stuff like that...

it's exciting though, I can't wait to meet my little girl and experience all the little things! :)

Congrats and Good luck
I know you'll be fine

I remember when people would tell me not to worry but it comes with the territory. As for you taking care of the baby it will come natural to you it's like god's gift to a new mommy. So take care and enjoy your last couple of weeks milk it for all it's worth cuz once the baby comes its all about the baby

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with my first child and I really didn't get nervous until it hit me that in a few weeks my son will be here. The closer I get, the more nervous I get. Congrats. My due date is August 24th.

Yes that is normal. I just had my third child a month ago. And I got nervous about everything even with my second and third. At least I knew what to except but still got nervous about everything.

Congradulations and yes I was nervous during our first pregnancy as well. Remember it is not just about you, it is also about your hubby. He is just as pregnant as you are.

It is normal to be nervous. That means you will be a good mom.
