No Mexican can apply for an immigrant visa! Don't listen to the ignorant pigs who write here:they never read the US immigration laws!
The way to come legally as an immigrant is to aplly for a Green Card. Citizens of certain countries cannot apply:India, Pakistan, Russia, Mexico, China, etc. Even if you apply, name are chosen at random, there is no selection, it's a LOTTERY!
So if you are a Mexican, you can come on any other type of visa, but not immigrant one. And once you come on other type of visa, you cannot obtain immigrant status, unless you marry for US passport. Which is a crime, but millions have done it:half the people I work with are married for papers and legal already.

They can enter in if they will provide a service that the US desperately needs. Say they went to school in the states and became a doctor in the states, most likely they will get into the states legally. However, if they have no education, clean your house or sell fruit on the highway, the states will say no to their immigration claim.

we enter legally with a visa or with a green card. For example people are hired before comming, such as proffesors and other proffesionals, and upon hiring the employer requests the government to issue them a working visa or green card.

I don't know how it works for Mexico, but I know many Colombians that try to get visas and get rejected several times. Not once or twice, but several. I think for Mexico, its similar. If you take that into consideration, maybe then Americans can understand why people come here illegally.

It depends on what the Mexican citizen wants to do in the US. Like non-Americans everywhere, they can apply for immigrant visas. They can also apply for non-immigrant visas to visit, do business, study, work temporarily, etc.
No, hanging out in the US for long enough does not make someone legal. It makes them deportable, and inadmissible for from three to twenty years.
