You know goKart I don't always agree with you (we are on opposite sides) But for the most part I have a lot of respect for your answers. And your right to a point but it's going to take money and less stringent rules on some things and more on others.

I think that we need to start thinking about it....nothing personal, no offense, but what to you seems benign is a 'gray area' type thing, maybe in your case everything worked out for the good, but at the end of the day, you've got a population from another country straddling our border, and now being really open about their percieved rights in our country.
While on one hand, I do believe that we should try to be open, and welcoming to new immigrants, I think that if they want to live in our country, they need to walk through the front door. Leaving the back door unlocked might seem noble and humanitarian to you, but that's also how your TV comes up missing.
Don't be blind to the fact that there's a law enforcement gap with mexico. It's a Big Problem. Mexico has a lot less money than we do, nationally, and their citizens have a really tough time of it.
But, instead of trying to squeeze america for 20 more dollars that it really doesn't have, they need to fix their own country up.

Naaa....don't lock em up..they just want a better life. But I don't think they should be able to come here and get all the free handouts either...that's BS..I think they should come here through legal means, then after they have gotten employment and paid into the taxes for a certain amount of years (say 2-5) then they qualify for public assistance.
If our government wouldn't be so quick to put money and food in every ones pockets they'd be more working immigrants, because it would be a NEED.....

No, the laws are not enforced against illegals. The illegals have more rights than American citizens since they're allowed to use people's social security numbers and identities while the government looks the other way.

I would rather pay anything to deport them than to support them. It's already been estimated an average cost of $100 a year, I say let's do it.
