I think you mean enemas, and there are some temporary benefits, as in, one may make you feel better, less bloated, for a while, but then, your symptoms will come back because you cannot completely clean yourself out with one. I read somewhere that it's like trying to wash your car with one glass of water. You'd need a colonic. Or maybe several to do the trick.

For those with bowel disorders they can save a life...my kid had a now common childhood disorder of the bowel, as fate would have it we had to administer several to her over her young life. She would not be able to eliminate waste for up to 19 days was the longest time frame, that time we took her to the hospital and they gave her a bariume enema. Not her favorite thing to have done to her and not our favorite thing to have to do to a kid. She is now 23 almost and very healthy. There were days when she was younger I thought she may die in her sleep. The colon can burst open if to much is left in there. Seeping into the stomach or elsewhere can kill you.
