Quit putting so much product in your hair-let it breath and use natural products only-at least till you see some healthyness coming through!!!The split ends are a result from overstyling your hair or your using the wrong brush!

Coloring your hair will not make your hair fall out.. this is a myth.. the worst it can do is make it break off.. but it will not fall out.. do you know how to tell the difference?? If it is breaking, your ends will look really thin and messy, but it will be thick and full up by your scalp.. if it is falling out, it will be thin up by your scalp as well as on the ends

If you want to make your hair look and feel fuller go to a salon and buy a product for color treated fine or thin hair... a good one is Amplify XL Color Shampoo. And buy the leave-in spray conditioner to go with it. Spray conditioners are better for fine hair because they are lighter than a rinse out one, even though you leave it in.. and it will add extra moisture to your hair all day.

If you wish to continue coloring your hair you can, if you do it right. Coloring your hair does not make your hair unhealthy, coloring it wrong does. Most people do not know how to do it correctly. Your best bet is to go to a salon and have it done because it is hard to do on your own, but I can tell you how to do it:
First, are you going lighter or darker? This makes a difference in the end of the process. With any color, apply the color only to the new growth (the natural colored stuff at the top). If you are going lighter (except red which fades and gets brassy), when the time is up, you are done. Do not color the rest of your hair, just shampoo, and use a good conditioner and your new growth is colored. If you are going darker, are just changing the tone of your natural color, or are using a red color that has faded: five minutes before your time is up, apply the remainder of the color to the rest of your hair. This will add the vibrance back into your hair so the two colors match. This will ensure that you are not causing damage to your ends because you are not coloring them twice.. they will also not get darker or lighter than the rest of your hair. When you color over and over, the ends end up one color and the top another.

If your hair is breaking go get it cut. You cannot stop the breaking once it has started, you can only cut off the damaged parts. You can prevent the breaking by doing your color right, using good products, and getting it trimmed every 4-6 wks. If you are trying to grow it, you can get it trimmed every 6-8 wks only after all the damage has been fixed, not before.

Do not use oils in your hair, they just cause a nasty messy build up. Go to a salon and get a deep conditioner. The stylists will be able to help you pick one for your specific needs. Some salons even do a treatment for you where they put the conditioner in your hair and you sit under a dryer.. this will make your hair feel great.

If you are using product in your hair, you need to get the gunk out once a week to prevent build up. If you have blonde hair a clarifying shampoo works wonders... however if you are coloring it a different color it will strip the color. A quick de-gunker is to take your shampoo in your palm and mix enough baking soda with it so that it is still a little runny and wash your hair with it. It is abrasive enough to remove build up but will not strip your color.

Never use a brush in your hair if it is wet, this will break it. If you use a heated styling tool (including a blow dryer) pick up a heat activated styler or a heat protecting styler. Both will keep your healthy hair (not the stuff that is already damaged - you cant fix that) from breaking when you are styling it.

Split ends will occur no matter how well you take care of your hair. Don't listen to anyone that says you caused them. You can make them worse definately, but no matter how well you take care of your hair, it will break. The wind will break it, the sun will break it, your head on a pillow will break it, a pony tail will break it... everyone gets them, its just not that obvious in someone who gets regular trims because they keep getting them cut off.

Do not use natural products, especially hair color. Natural hair color builds up and breaks your hair off.

If your hair is definetly falling out, not breaking.. see a doctor right away.. there is most likely an underlying problem.

I cannot stress enough that nothing you do to your hair could ever make it fall out - just break off. Unless you are having a severe allergic reaction to a chemical, coloring, perming, relaxing, straighting, using too much product, pulling, brushing, etc, can only break hair. It may break at the scalp, but the difference is, that in a month you would have 1/2 inch of hair, if it is falling out, it would take a lot longer to get it back
