The book's historical accuracy is ridiculously off!
For example :
In his own lifetime Jesus "inspired millions to better lives" (p.231); there were "more than eighty gospels" (p.231; the number 80 is factual-sounding, but has no basis); "the earliest Christian records" were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls (including gospels) and Nag Hammadi texts (pp.234, 245); the Nag Hammadi texts "speak of Christ's ministry in very human terms" (p.234); the marriage of Mary Magdalene and Jesus is "a matter of historical record" (p.244); Constantine invented the divinity of Jesus and excluded all gospels but the four canonical ones; Constantine made Christianity "the official religion" of the Roman Empire (p.232); Constantine coined the term "heretic" (p.234); "Rome's official religion was sun worship" (p.232). There are more.

why don't people snap out of thuis bullshit and go on with their lives?
The book is not even that great!

People get mad because in the Christian religion we say you can get to Heaven if you accept that Jesus Christ died for your sins. And the movie and book say Jesus faked his death.

That is a big deal...they may turn people away from God with the movie and book because some people don't know the difference between fact and fiction.

Plus one of the actors,Ian McKellen say in several interviews the bible is all fiction.

Dan Brown is a marketing genius. It is awesome to write a fiction book and get people to mistake it for reality and/or to take it so seriously. This hasn't been accomplished since, well the bible itself is the last example we have of this. Dan brown ranks up there with whoever wrote Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. Definately better then whoever wrote Thomas, Peter, Mary, and the other 80 some gospels.

Some people don't know the difference between fact and fiction. They often are known as Christians.

LMAO. people just want something to bicker about and confuse the **** out of other people and many people just want a freakin book to read as pleasure, not take it as some serioius thing. There are many books out there that aren't great and not every freakin scholar would go thru it and criticize it so what is wrong with reading da vinci code.. maybe many people are scared that there may be some actual research that was hidden from catholic or any other religion for that matter and dont want ppl to know.. who the hell knows but i only know what i'm told to know by God thru the angels.

I wouldn't get that bent out of shape about it. It is just a story, after all, and authors do tend to embelish the truth a bit. So yes, there are several historical innacuracies throughout the book. It's not that big of a deal, it's not like people are starting a religion around it or anything.

Because, IT'S A WORK OF FICTION! Yes, like Harry Potter. And yet fanatics on both sides get worked up about how the book is truth/fake. Who cares? It's a mystery novel, if you don't like it, don't read it. If you like it, enjoy it and treat it as a good story.

I think most people are aware it is a work of fiction. And that book and movie are old now. Let's move on to the next controversial book.

People are blinded, satan is the great deceiver, what else can I say? People believe in the pre-trib rapture also ,and there is no where to be found in scripture to back that up, and when the truth about it, is revealed to them they still can't see it. We are in a very real battle, put on your armour.
