Might as well answer the guy here. He says that he wrote:
"Why weren't they added to the Bible then?"
Ummmmm, they were only discovered in the late 1940s. So... you expect them to be added to a Bible? No. But there are plenty of books...Christian books included...that discuss and present the information and wording that was on the scrolls.
" I continue to hear Christians say that they are untrue gospels because they claim they are from the Christian Gnostic sect which they claim are heresy and not the true gospel."
You have NO clue about this do you.
1) The GOSPEL stands for "Good News" The Gospels are the first four books of the NEW Testament, and are the books regarding the life of Jesus Christ.
2) The Dead Sea Scrolls are books dated back to OLD Testament times....and since you don't seem to understand much about the Bible let me explain to you that the OLD Testament. The Old Testament a) came before the New Testament, b) the writings of the Old Testament ENDED some 400 years BEFORE the birth of Christ.
THEREFORE... HOW could there be ANY Gospels included in the Dead Sea Scrolls??? Christ hadn't been born yet!
3) Gnostics are not Christians.
4) Under scholarly review, the Dead Sea Scrolls verify correctly the Old Testament.
So.... Do you even have a CLUE what you are saying? No, you have been reading Dan Brown and DaVinci code as if it were true....and your letter gives clear example why Christians are upset that the "stories" revolving around Dan Brown's DaVinci Code will lead to understanding and lies about the Christian faith, and about Jesus Christ.
"These scrolls are the same in comparison to the original biblical documents, (even though they really aren't according to christians), in the original language, not the translated versions which is what most people question."
Who is questioning them? They CONFIRM the OLD Testament. Maybe you needed to clear out the wax in your ears, or clean off your glasses if you were reading this in a newspaper. I don't hear Christian groups saying that the Dead Sea Scrolls were false or disproved the Old Testament. But ANYONE having a clue about them WILL tell you that they are not Gospels merely by the definition of what a Gospel IS.
Come back with an ACTUAL question next time. In the mean while, do research BEYOND Dan Brown and others who would like to bash Christians without knowing what Christianity truly is (and what it says).

Thank you for posting this, I didn't get to comment either, so here is what mine would have been.
Why weren't they added to the Bible then? I continue to hear Christians say that they are untrue gospels because they claim they are from the Christian Gnostic sect which they claim are heresy and not the true gospel. But know your worried about making them legitimate?
I think you are missing the point. These scrolls are the same in comparison to the original biblical documents, (even though they really aren't according to christians), in the original language, not the translated versions which is what most people question. Also, The reason I say the bible is false is because it originally came from stories from other cultures and religions where they had multiple gods. These stories are clearly documented in the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian texts that are at least 3000 years older that the oldest part of the OT in the Bible and that is proved by science. The stories were passed on orally for thousands of years until written down again by the biblical authors. During this oral tradition time the stories changed just from word of mouth and to fit the current culture and religious beliefs.
So it would not matter if the original Bible documents matched the dead sea scrolls word for word, letter for letter. It still does not change this fact.
Let me add this in response to stillbrooke. (Unfortuantley I've never read the Da Vinci code I stick to non fiction like www.sacred-texts.com under ancient near east, why don't you go there and educate yourself).
I apologize that I was confused and called the scrolls I was referring to the dead sea scrolls when in fact I was referring to the Nag Hammadi texts. You are right the dead sea scrolls are OT. However it seems like maybe you need some education in these matters instead of autmotacially assuming that I am reading the Da Vinci code, but you must have read it since you were familiar with the issues in it.
The Nag Hammadi Library, a collection of thirteen ancient codices containing over fifty texts, was discovered in upper Egypt in 1945. This immensely important discovery includes a large number of primary Gnostic scriptures -- texts once thought to have been entirely destroyed during the early Christian struggle to define "orthodoxy" -- scriptures such as the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Philip, and the Gospel of Truth.
Several of the major texts in the Nag Hammadi collection have more than one English translation; where more than one translation is available, we have listed the translators' names in parenthesis below the name of the text. Texts marked with the {*} had more than one version extant within the Nag Hammadi codices; often these several versions were used conjointly by the translators to provide the single translation presented here.
