I feel that the man should pay on the first date up to the third date. Is it safe to assume this?

until the lady wants to pay
then the man should leave the tip were applicable at the time

If the man does not pay then he is an asshole. The boy should ALWAYS pay on the first date. Later on the girl can offer to help pay the bill with him 50-50, just so things are even.

The guy should pay. But i think it's reasonable to split the bill 50-50 after the first couple of dates.

I think it depends on whomever has the most money.
If a regular joe took Paris Hilton on a date, should he be the one to pay? - No.
I'm a man and I've always paid for first dates, but I've also always had more free cash than the women I was dating.

I am old fashion, so I think the man should pay always, but since the times have changed, then I would go so far as to say....whoever asks the other out, pays......after all, you invited them......and never assume anything.....anyway, you ask him ut the first time...you pay......he asks, he pays

I am an old fashion girl me and my husband being dating for like 12 years LOL and he still paying for everything... its just the way it is.. but if you feel like you want to pay for something well you can after you get to know him good and he gets to know you good,cause some men out there are just huge leaches that just want you to pay for everything and want you to buy things for them and supports them watch out there is a lots of them out there!! so before you start paying for things let him to see if he aint one of those leaches ok. good luck.
