Have fundamentalists co-opted Christianity and Islam?

Seriously, why do the fanatics in religion think they must do such terrible things in the name of God? And who honestly believes that Sept. 11 and Hurrucane Katrina were punishments from God? I think this INSULTS God! I do consider myself Christian but I feel sad that fanatics have given a bad name to Christianity, just as I know many Muslims who are ashamed of the zealots who've hijacked their religion.

I agree with you. Sorry forget to make a point about Islamic fundamentalism. The people who are killing in the name of Islam has abandoned the fundamentals which is Qur'an and they find the justificiations of what they do in man written books. Book of hadiths. Honestly Muslims revert back to funamentalism than there will be no violence in the name of religion. I am fundamentalist who follow Qur'an and am very peacful respectful tolerant and very liberal.

i dont agree with those people who said i am doing jihad again,st america and israel becouse they are killing innocent,s

they should fight back but the rule should not be broken weather they are killing innocent people in
IRAQ,AFGHANISTAN,KASHMIR,BOSNIA,PELISTINE,LEBONAN etc

but they should kill there soldier,s destroy there bases but should not kill innocent people that,s bad

in Quraan GOD said iff you kill one human you have killed humanity

iff you saved life of one human you have saved the whole humanity (weather he is muslim or not)

it means Islam prohibit,s of killing innocent people

fight with them incase iff they raged war on you then you should fight to them with strong beleive dont came back until you succeed and fight for justice in the name of ALLAH
then iff you die when fighting again,st injustice you will get heaven

this is the major point every body will not go to heaven

but what happened now
they dont read Quraan and hadeeth by them selves then they only have one choice to except what the So called preacher said
