Not pure O2 back in Noha's day.It was like a greenhouse effect with that much rain that surrounded and flooded the earth back then .

I believe the theory that earth was created way before the other creation on the Day 2 to Day 6. Meaning, there is a great gap between Day one and Day two.

This is called Gap Theory.

The other creation was actually re-creation. And the previous one was already destroy. Thus becoming fossils.
