Get a gift card from a CD store or DVD store. That way he can pick what music or movies he wants.

Why don't you ask him or someone close to him? I'd rather get something I like for my birthday then to get something I don't like. If you felt that you just wanna get him something without being too open or straight forward, get him some gift vouchers. He should be able to get something of his wish.

well guys are really expensive, and not for nothing very picky so the best thing to do is to put the money in a card, along with a shirt and call it a day.

my parents gave me money on my 21st birthday and i wasted it in a bar.. maybe a couple gift cards 20 dollars each that way he can get what he wants.

colonge is nice, something you like to smell on him. you can usally walk away spending like 60-80bucks, or digital camera, various cd's you know he likes, playstation game or two, digital camera, favorite movie on dvd! stuff like that go to www.target.com, they should have some good electronics for a great price right now!
