the best overall plasma is the Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK now this TV is a little strange the fact is to use you have to buy separate input cards to use it other than that it is a very good and solid plasma that gotten rave reviews from tech experts now if you don't want to buy the separate video input card you should try the Pioneer PDP-5060HD it give excellent picture quality but it is a lot more then other plasma if you really want the best picture you should go with a projection not a plasma they have a very hard making blacks look black it turns out to be a grayish color not black. you should go to www.cnet.com and research alot more before you even pick what pick of display technology you want to use the best TV according to cnet.com is the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 its not cheap but is worth every penny go to the source link and read all the info they tell you it will pay off and it will help you pick the best TV for you

I never take note of which plasma has cablecard and which doesn't as I don't really need it. However, Panasonic plasma is certain the Plasma leading brand. U can buy yourself a 50PV500 or a 50PV600. The latter one support up to 1080p! Both are equipped with a SD card slot for recording and play-back of television programmes. u can save money on a DVD-recorder with that. =) Trust me, no one can make better plasma tv than Panasonic and Pioneer.
