Ok, but it's really annoying when I ask for advice from athiests on a question, and I get a bunch of Christians saying I should repent and be saved.

For example, I asked for advice on whether or not (and how), I should tell my family I'm no longer a believer, and I got 6 or 7 answers from theists saying Jesus still loves me. Really not helpful, guys.

They just can't help themselves. They are sure that you will come to believe in their religion if they can just get some words in, when the truth is, you are capable of understanding reason while they aren't. They won't become atheists because they believe what they have been told, while you think on your own.

They are worried that everyone who doesn't accept Jesus as their savior is going to hell. They are motivated by fear. Also part of being Christian is to assimilate others. They are Borg.
Also Christian's assume that what their book says is the truth. Anything that is said that is different is wrong--hands down end of discussion. Funny thing is they can't prove what is in their book, but they have had 2000 years to come up with clever responses to people pointing this out. None of these responces offer prof, they just attempt to distract you from the fact that nobody knows if there is a God/Jesus or if anything in the Bible is acurate.

I don't know. I asked a serious question for Christians the other day, and all the atheists chimed in with their two cents. All the intelligence you guys are supposed to have got lost in all the hate. I guess as Christians, we just don't understand why anyone would want to feel so much hatred when you don't have to.

I don't know about other religions, but the born-again Christians want you to hear the truth and NOT fall for deceptions of this world.
We born-again Christians have an urge to prevent someone from getting advice that will lead you to hell...No offence but all atheists who will not repent and give themselves to Christ by the time they die will burn in hell ...Hell is real, so is heaven.I am not saying : The bible says so...I am saying "IT WILL HAPPEN" whether they believe or not.

Same could be asked of other people who pose religious questions, that ask for Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc... Athiests chime in with their own opinion.
It comes down to a matter of respect I would say.

Probably the same reason we get non theists on Christians/Muslims only. They have free will and want to answer. I say you should do what ever you feel is right as to telling your family.

The reason that you ask for atheist opinions and get religious 'trolls' on a topic is because sometimes your questions cater more to them than to atheists. You should not limit your target audience to just the atheists,but also to the religious 'trolls'.

Maybe you should not be insulting people by calling them trolls and the like. If you are going to ask in a public forum you are going to get a cross section of that public answering.

Because it is a free country, and if you post on a public message board, the general public can and will answer. Including religious people.
If you only want atheist answers, go to an atheist website.

Maybe that's why Christians or other religions answer to show you what common sense is all about! You defintely don't have it! Be a nice little black girl and stir up strife somewhere else!
