Last year I stayed at a convent in NY. I have never experienced such anti Semitism as I have seen/heard there.
Why so much hatred between christians and Jews?

The Catholic Church officially teaches:

When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, "the first to hear the Word of God.

The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant.

To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ"; "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."

Neither all Jews indiscriminately at that time, nor Jews today, can be charged with the crimes committed during the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from Holy Scripture.

With love in Christ.

It is certainly not official that Catholics and Vatican dislike Jews. Even if you heard anti-Semitic opinions expressed by members of the convent referred to, Christians should ideally not dislike Jews or make statements which appear anti-Semitic, because the Jews were originally chosen by God to receive His words and His teaching as recorded in the Old Testament, and His Son Jesus was born to a Jewish mother. The minority of people in Jesus' homeland who received Him as Messiah were all Jews. Present-day Jews should have useful background knowledge fo understand the significance of Jesus' life and death by crucifixion. Many Christians are upset and angry about the Israelis' treatment of the Palestinians, and now of the Lebanese people. This does not make them anti-Semitic - they see such behaviour as contrary to what was originally hoped for by those who helped to set up the state of Israel and a betrayal of what Jews ought to stand for.

I dont think the "official" Catholic line promotes haterd of any religion. Are you sure you were not in a right wing fundamentalist convent? Generally Catholics are very respectful to Jews who are seen as the chosen people.
Some Catholics believe that when Jews are converted to Catholicism then the world will end. Perhaps that part of it.

PS I am a Catholic and have NEVER heard such views expressed!

I have never heard of such a thing. That I know of it's the radical-extremists that hate jewish people such as the Muslim world. Jews like Catholics believe in God and some Jews are even for Jesus.

Wow, I dunno about those particular nuns, but generally, there has been a fostering of a very good relationship between Jews and Catholics, especially during the papcy of John Paul II. There's an exhibit at Duquesne University in Pittsburgg documenting his entire life's work of reconciliation with the Jewish people, maybe you might like to see it.

If you experienced anti-Semitism at the hands of a few people stuck in the stone-age, I deeply apologize.

The Vatican has officially repented for its part in the Holocaust, if any, and for the years that Jews were called "Christ killers".

Your nuns are behind the times, as nuns often are, because so many are old. Just because a nun is a nun doesn't keep her from being an old maid.

Why could we not see "Big Picture"?

There should be no hatred between humans as a single race... We are all in the image of God! Yet, should is the word! We are all squabbling over nonsense, man-made stuff (economy, money, status, house, religion, culture etc.) and dying lands(mortal earth)! What kind of prosperity and progress can we make should we cease as a race to exist? Maybe if war did not end us... mother nature will?

If I am earth... and human race the disease... I will try to purge that sickness before it kills me!

That is why religion is so great, they really practice what they preach, love thy neighbour... ! I'm not just talking about Christians here, but most (or is it all?) religions, who in the name of faith feel justified to discriminate and commit horrendous acts.
