The only one I ever heard about was when you take a piece of bread and poke out the middle and put in a buttered pan and break an egg into the middle of it and fry. Then they call it a bird nest breakfast

Yes.. I do not see it here in the U.S. unless it is imported from China. I had bird'nest soup many times and LOVE it.. I had it in Vietnam and also in Hong Kong when I went there many times. Actually.. there is an island off the cost of China and the only birds there are those special birds that have their nests and those are the ones that are taken to China for use in the restaurants.

Yes, It is sandwich steaks that are wrapped around stuffing and then smothered in gravy. I used to have these in the South Side Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA

My mom used to call it a birds nest when she took mashed potatoes and put a dent in them and then put peas or corn in the dent, not sure if this is what you are looking for. My mother is from the south.

yup. it's an asian delicacy.... people in malaysia, thailand harvest swallow's nests. it's made into a soup, and taken as dessert. it's pretty expensive because it's hard to come by, and it's believed to have medicinal value
