Muslims do not insult Jesus because they respect him as a prophet. They do not believe he was the last prophet as they reserve that position for Muhammed, pbuh. (PBUH: stands for peace be upon him, and it is customary out of respect to add that after referring to him.) Muslims do, however, reject the claim by Christians that Jesus is the son of God. They also reject the rather complicated formula that is the trinity; Muslims would argue "How can God be one and not one?" The Muslim response to the trinity is "There is only one God and his name is Allah." Not three or one with three parts or any other complex formulation. Just one.

As for why Muslims don't insult Christians more often, first, can anyone ascertain if that is, in fact, true? If it is true, is it perhaps because Muslim participants in this forum are trying to conduct themselves with some level of self-respect and respect for others, whereas Christian participants either lack a sense of self-respect and respect for others or they feel compelled to generate an electronic Crusade that can only ultimately reveal their failure to restrain their basest impulses.

Where have you been? I see insults being tossed in every direction. Muslims Deny Jesus is the Anointed Son of God. Christian Faith is based on the fact that He is . Do the difference will remain. And the debate goes on.
If the two ever get together to study they may see they are no so different. But as of now the two are two sides of a Coin.

Could you be more specific as to what you mean by "insult"? I was not aware that a disagreement was an insult.

True, I've seen some people call Muhammad names, but most of the questions seem to be a genuine desire to understand another person's beliefs. If they accidentally insult someone, maybe it is an honest mistake born out of ignorance as to what is offensive to Muslims.

And I have seen some Muslims post questions that seem to be mocking America, Westerners, Jews, or Christians, so it is not just as one-sided as you say.

We have plenty of so-called "Christians" insulting Jesus already. We don't need for Muslims to do it.

And, by the way, real Christians don't insult Muslims or anybody. Both religions have freethinker problems.

Well you have to understand the Christians that insult muslims are not true Christians. The bible tells us to love on another no matter who they are. The stereotypical Christian is the one who you described, who generally doesn't give a rat's a$$ about God or the Bible they just want to be self-righteous and call themselves a "Christian."

A REAL CHRISTIAN, is humble, and feels no hate for the people that hate him, and especially don't insult other religions.

*not a Christian or a Muslim

but I have seen attacks on this site by Muslims that are arguing that Jesus was not divine and saying that G-d cannot have a son. While I argue with that statement it shows that in Christian eyes Muslims are insulting Jesus by saying he is only a prophet.

A lot of people call themselves Christians and show that they aren't by their words and behavior. The KKK is made up of people who call themselves Christian, but they are known for hate and the murder of minorities. Not Christians at all!

As far as people insulting Jesus -- those who claim to follow him and don't have a clue about what that means ARE insulting him. That goes for supposed Christians who really don't know him at all, and it goes for people who claim that he was a great prophet and deny the very things he claimed.

Because Muslims are taught in their quran to respect and revere Jesus, while Christians are taught in their bible to disrespect and insult other religions. Elijah killed 450 prophets of another religion. Moses and Joshua and David killed thousands who worshipped gods other than their tribal Yahweh. Middle Ages Christians killed thousands of other religions.

If we were to teach that God is a meir prophet and it's silly to believe that he is more than that would you call that an attack. Jesus in the New Testiest Gospel of John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. He used the Very name of God in reference to Himself. This is a HOLY tenet of Christianity and you cheapen it. Ok don't believe it but stop take slaps at us with your beliefs.

True Christianity is more accepting than fundamentalist Christianity. I've seen plenty of Christian bashing in Yahoo Answers.
