In our pub one guy came up with "Heard the news? They've found the lost tribe of the Amazon. They're all living over here". We told him to stop being racist. He said it was a joke. But what does it reveal about his thinking?

That he's small minded, unfunny, has a poor level of social skills and quite possibly a very small and smelly penis.

What is racist about that?

You could call it xenophobic i suppose. But he has attached no derogatory (or complimentary) attributes to the lost tribe of the amazon. He's just saying they are living here? Is it racist for me to say lots of Somalians live here? um no.

He's saying that the immigration into this country is a joke. Granted it's a crap joke but to call him a racist is ridiculous. um Political Correctness gone mad ring a bell?

Skull - they arent forced to live here now are they. On the contrary, the British are forced by their own government to take them - despite the overwhelming opinion that we dont want any more immigrants. Exactly the sort of policy that creats bigots and skinheads.

When was the last time you saw a skinhead in this country? seriously I havent seen one for ages! I know they have a lot in Germany/Eastern Europe/Russia, but havent seen one here for a very long time

That he's a racist that finds it funny to make jokes about people who are driven out of their homes and forced to live in a foriegn country where they still face persecution from bigots and skinheads.

It is definatly not funny...BUT, it is true & he does not necessarily have to be racist to say it... although he probably is. I am not & I still do not like or respect anyone who breaks thew law to enter our country!!!
