Zits and acne will persist well in to adulthood - get used to it now.
Zits are most commonly caused by normal hormonal fluctuations in your body.
Zits are not only found on the face; some other common areas are the back, scalp and neck.
Zits are uncomfortable and sometimes hurt, but if you don't let them disappear on their own you could end up with scars.
Popping, picking at, drying out or otherwise irritating zits makes things worse and can cause even more to sprout up.
You do not get zits because you eat greasy food or too many sweets.
You do not get zits because of poor hygiene alone.
Zits do not make you ugly or gross.
Persistent acne that consists of 4 or more zits at one time along with redness, discomfort and slow healing cycles, should be checked out by a doctor.
Everyone gets zits... everyone!

I had the same issue. I had beautiful skin (even through puberty) and then poof! One day I started breaking out like crazy. There are several reasons that this could start happening and the only way to tell for sure is to go to a dermatologist, but in the meantime, the number one reason is typically stress related. You also could have rosecea or some form of skin condition that is flaring up all of a sudden. My advice is to drink a LOT of water (more than double what the recommended dose is) get plenty of sleep (breakouts happen when you don't sleep), make sure to use a VERY sensitive cleanser before bed to remove any make-up from the day) and watch your diet. Certain foods aggravate the skin more than others (chocolate is a myth) but spicy foods do encourage flare-ups. If all else fails, see a dermatologist and they can prescribe something with more strength and at least determine what it is that is causing it! Don't mess with your skin. It is the first thing that people see!!!!

ALSO- Be VERY careful about over scrubbing your face as some answers suggest. If you do have a skin condition, this will make it so much worse! The simple things that I suggested can only help you and will not hurt you.

There could be a number of reasons depending on your situation but only a dermatologist can tell you for sure.Elavated levels of some hormones in your sytem such as dihydrotestosterone, progesterone could cause this.Do not scrub your skin as some may suggest because this could aggrevate the condition.Adding some form of lecithin to your diet may help a little as it helps to emusify oils in your system.Tanning will help because of the bacteriostatic action of the rays. This will also help cover the scarring a bit.
Women may experience this during certain stages of menstuation also because of hormones.I'm also 36.Out of room

There are alot of things that can cause acne.
What you eat, your period, what you're using to wash and moisturize with, medications you're taking, how many times a day you touch your face- oil from your hands...
Try something different. Neutrogena products are pretty good. Change your diet to more healty food. If that doesn't help even a little, see your doctor.

I would guess some kind of hormonal changes are happening. Have you just gone on/off the pill? Hormone levels can fluctuate and not be a problem, but I would be aware if you are having any other symptoms there could be something else going on.

Stress, lack of exercise, too much spicy food in ur diet, or simply a lack of hygeine.
Just use clarisil and pimple cream and apply retinol A for preventive.
I know because I just spent 300 hundred bucks for a derma consultation.

you go through hormonal changes a few times in life--puberty, anytime you get pregnant and have a baby, menopause...etc. I just happens to people. Your skin changes as you get older too. You probably just need to adjust your skin care regiment or if you didn't have one before, you probably need one now.
