Dinosaurs first appeared approximately 230 million years ago. At the end of the Cretaceous period 65 million years ago, dinosaurs suffered a catastrophic extinction. The Bible only took place a few thousand years ago. Back then, they did not have the technology to find dinosaur fossils and they new nothing of them. Therefore there would be no mention of dinosaurs and if there were, they were probably just known by different names..

For your information the Bible does mention dinosaurs just not using the MODERN term "Dinosaur". Behemoth, Leviathan and Dragon - are mentioned and apparently existed up a little past the Genesis accounts of history. SOME dinosaurs survived the flood - mostly the aquatic ones - and somehow a flying dragon species as well.

Supposedly, the bible says the earth is only "about" 2000 years old. Dinosaurs were on the earth long before man, millions of years ago...

Because they hadn't been discovered yet. Which is ironic since the bible is supposed to be divinely inspired. And god is supposed to have "created" everything and anything on earth. That would include dinosaurs.
So, why wouldn't his "divinely" inspired manifesto include them?
The answer is simple; there is no god.
The bible was written by men. Designed to frighten the sheep with stories of some childish boogey man in order to keep them in the church and more importantly, to keep the collection plate full.

Because Man wrote the word of God, and at that time, there was no knowladge of the dinosaur fossils found deep within the earth.
And besides, why write about somthing that has already happened and doesn't really matter in man's development?

The Bible shouldn't be taken literally, it's not absolute truth...also certain churches have control over what goes in the Bible and what goes out. It's been reinterpreted thousands of times, nobody knows what the original Bible really said.

There are references to Behemoths in Job and Leviathans elsewhere. The general thought is that they went extinct shortly after the flood.
Here's some good info from a creationist point of view.
