dunno if it's true in all people's cases, but it sure felt like it to me when I realized that there are no Gods reading my mind, no angels and demons doing battle in my bedroom, and no more need to reconcile suffering and evil with a good and all-powerful God.
Life suddenly made a lot more sense and it felt like I'd been unplugged from the Matrix, in a sense.

I think that's just your opinion. First off, the whole matrix series was based on many different philosophical and religious teachings. It's not hard to see Neo as a Christ figure. Following him sets you free, he has the power to change the world, etc. So, really those still "plugged in" would be the Atheists and those following Neo would be the "Christians" if you will.

This analogy is poor. The whole Matrix series was about questioning reality. In fact maybe the idea that atheists are un-plugged is just another "simulacrum," making them further intrenched in the "dream-world" than Christians. Who knows? I don't claim to have an objective view of reality, but I don't think anybody else should claim otherwise (Atheists or Christians).

We are all plugged into the Matrix. That movie was the truth and Neo is trying to free us all.
Everyone sees what they want to see. No one knows the "truth" for sure. We will find out when we die though.

Perhaps -but who had the better life? Would you rather be shot at or stay in an nice dream world? Besides, you atheists still cannot prove God does not exist - so stick it!

The worst part was when the plug in the back of my head came out.
Pity the plugheads.

Okay?!?! I believe atheists see the world as it is. Some Christians choose to see it as they would like it no matter what is happening.
