Whether it's legal or not, you really need to ask yourself if your son really needs to be riding around on an ATV at the age of 7. That's really young, and he probably does not understand the responsibilties of it yet.
But he is required by law to wear eye protection and a helmet if you do allow him.
I was driving on US 27 not very long ago and a young boy was being air lifted to the hospital because of an accident, he lost control of the ATV. His parents were there, his friends were there, and so forth, but he still went to the hospital by air as he was so badly hurt. This happens frequently out west towards US 27 and in Weston with kids riding around and not understanding how to control them. Think about it. Do you really want to run the risk of losing your baby?

A lot of communities have their own laws that apply to these little ATVs. They can vary quite a bit from one town to the next, or one county to the next.
Your best bet would be to check with your local county Sheriff's office. They are the ones who are usually called on to enforce whatever local laws there may be, so are probably the best ones to ask for information.

There is an age Limit of 16 on all atvs four wheelers and three wheelers even on private property. if your child was hurt by the atv then you are liable and can have charges brought on you.
for the safty of your child please get rid of it before you have a loss like mine ,I lost my 10 year old cousin to a 4 wheeler when the brakes locked up and flipped it on top on him and the basket going through his head......I never want to ever see a child die like that...
