Well, I spent from age 11 to 17 making coffee for my mum and dad at least twice a day, so I'd say it's coz you don't have any kids. Get one and see if that makes a difference.

Depends on how bad you want a cup. I roast my own...grind one cup at a time...but...I have better coffee than you could dream about getting from some dump like Starbucks.
