moses brought down the commandments to the people. why didnt jesus bring the bible to christians when he was alive, but instead it was written after his death. When he was alive why didnt he say that he was dying to save mankind from sin and that we should believe he is God.

Because he was just an ordinary man. It took Paul and Constantine to make him a god.

The Old Testament was written before Jesus came to earth. (Moses wrote part of it.)

The gospel accounts in the New Testament were written by Jesus' followers to share what he said and did and to keep an accurate account of it. The rest of the NT was written after Jesus because it hadn't happened yet. Acts is a history of the early church (it starts after Jesus' resurrection from the grave), and almost all of the rest of the NT is made up of letters written from apostles to actual churches in different cities.

Oh, and Jesus did say that He was the son of God and that He came to die. He said it over and over again throughout the gospels.

I understand what you are saying. I think you miss a certain point though.

Jesus didn't just die. He rose from the grave as he said he would and ascended.

I think that the way it worked out after that; in that the Bible was written after and so were the other works, and then later they were all put together, is because Jesus has been given power and authority over all things, and is not sitting up there in Heaven twiddling His thumbs.

Jesus never did or said these things because they were never true.

Sounds as though you are ready to go on to graduate school from the nature of your question.

I suggest that you get a copy of a book called the course in miracles. It explaines the concepts you are speaking of in far greater detail than any religous belief system.

This is advanced stuff not for the casual dabbler. Sounds like you could probably understand it real well. I have been studying it for around 7 years. Yes it's that deep.

Keep seeking

Love and blessings.

First off, the torah already existed, which is the first four books of the bible. The entire Old Testament was written before the birth of Christ. Only the New Testament was written after the crucifiction. The bible wasn't put together as a complete book until after 300 a.d..

Jesus did say that. He told his disciples several times that He was the Son of God and that He is one with the Father, meaning He is God, and that He would have to die. He told them this.
Matthew 16:21- "From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priest and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life"
Matthew 21:17-19- "Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, 'We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!'"
Actually, the majority of the Bible was written before Jesus time on earth. The people already had the Old Testament Scriptures.
The new testament began to be written about 30 to 40 years after His resurrection, beginning with 4 accounts of His life retold by eye-witnesses. Jesus was not going to record an account of His own life while He was here. That's just a foolish notion.
Jesus said in the first written accounts of Him speaking (Matthew 5:17- "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
The Law he is referring to is the first five books of the Old Testament (the Pentateuch) and the prophets they were written by.

NOTE FOR ------thebigm57
Jesus didn't just meet 80-90% of the criteria for being the Messiah. Jesus fulfilled 100% of the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. Every single one of them. If you do the math, the odds of that happening are something like 1 in 10 to the 93rd power. The same odds as having enough silver dollars to cover the state of Texas 3 feet deep, picking up one random silver dollar and it being the right one. The odds are so great of that happening that the only possible explanation is that Jesus was in fact the Messiah. I don't know where you got your facts from, but they are incorrect I'm afraid.
And the Old Testament would not have ceased to exist. As I quoted above in Matthew 5, Jesus said "Do not htink that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." He is referring to the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament. A little research easily wipes our your arguement.

Jesus was just a dude. He was born because his mom was a whore. Do you really believe someone can get pregnant without having sex? So Jesus was an illegitimate child who was probably suffering from mental disorders (I.e. schizophrenia) Or maybe he just liked to talk a lot of ****. Jesus never met God, no none has, hes not real. Anyways....That story is a light years old. Look how far our world has progressed and yet we still believe in mythical tales. Wake up already people!

Jesus IS NOT GOD (if there is one)...The Christian sects have elevated him to that stature claiming that he was the Messiah as predicted in the OT. It's just unfortunate that he only met 80-90% of the criteria spelled out in the OT to be the Messiah. Jesus is FALSE...he was a man and nothing more...nothing special...great teacher...ahead of his time...but a MAN.
If Jesus was in fact the Messiah of the OT we would have ceased to exist at one of two times...at the moment of his death on the Cross...or when he arose from the grave. At either of those two points some would have ascended to Heaven (if there is one; and some would have descended into Hell (if there is one).

Not only that if he in fact died to absolve humanity of ALL Sin...Why are we still sinning today? PEACE!

He did say that he was dying to give us salvation. He said that "I am the way, the truth, and the life. nobody comes to the father but through me" and at the last supper he told the disciple that his body would be broken for mankind. He didn't bring the bible because the bible tells the account of Jesus's life and teaches through his example.

The devil is in the details. Please, read the Bible and learn about Jesus walk, the Biblical experience and facts and knowledge. The only way you can learn about everything is to study. If you asked a in depth question to a college professor, they would tell you to look it up, to study, to learn, so does God. We have the bible to learn, to read, to study, all the answers are in there. My question to you is why aren't you reading it and learning it? Is it easier to ask the general public questions about God and beleive whatever many will tell you, never knowing who is telling you what...or to seek the truth and knowledge from Christ and God found in the Bible? It seems as though the way you pose your question, you are questioning God. Do you seek mans knowledge and answers or do you seek Gods answers and truth?

Perhaps because in his day, HE was known as the Word of God, not the Bible. Early Christians would have considered calling a book the 'word of god' heretical and blasphemous.
