The concept of the trinity is pretty difficult to explain. But to me it makes sense that an all power full, eternal creator of the universe is hard to fully understand.
However I'm not going to give you the BS a lot of Christians on Yahoo answers give "we'll find out when get to heaven" or "you just need to have faith"
The members of the Trinity are the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The best way to describe them is they are different portrayals of the same being.
They are roughly similar to a someone who Works, Hangs out at Bar regularly and has a family. That person probably acts a bit different and has slightly different traits in each role but they are still the same person.
So the Father, who's given credit for creating the universe and for much of the interaction with the Israelites ( although many people believe appearance of the "angel of the lord" may have been Christ per-incarnate)
And the Son who is considered to be Jesus and the savior who intercedes with for us with the father to forgive our sins.
And the hold spirit who is actively working in the modern world are all the same being just performing different roles and portray different aspects of God.

ONE GOD but three factors!
Look up Psalm 45, and Psalm 110. Both indicate THE GOD speaking to
"HIS OTHER".....also......The Trinity is indicated in 1 John 5:7 if you are using
a King James Bible (others have removed or altered same).
In the Old Testament see Isaiah 44:6 --- and His redeemer I am ---.
and Isaiah 45:11 --- And His maker --.
My favourite indicator is 1 Corinthians 15:28 ! At some point The Trinity will once
again unite because THEN there will be no need for The Trinity !
Water appears as a liquid, steam, and ice. All three are one.
A Clover leaf has three segments, it is but ONE clover.
In both situations above, three are one. Why can't THE GOD do the same?

1 God. Its the God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They make one God. The God is the same as the Son and is the same as they Holy Spirit. Get the point? They are the SAME. Three in One.

True Christians do not believe in the Trinity. Jesus is the son of God, God is the creator of everything else, and the Holy Spirit is God's active force.

The bible NEVER SAID that They are THE SAME.
Jesus said " I and my Father are one" . He did not said, I am also my Father.
What Jesus meant about it is also written in the Bible. we should NOT SPECULATE.
How Jesus and the Father are one? John 17:11
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own nameTHOSE WHOM THOU HAST GIVEN ME , that THEY may be ONE, AS WE ARE.
Well said. The "oneness" of Jesus and the Father is comparable to the "oneness" of the Church. St. Peter and St. John are ONE BUT they are not the same entity. St. Peter is NOT ALSO St. John. They are obviously distinct. Jesus is not the Father. They are not the same.
If they are the same, look at the complication.
Remember tha Jesus once said " My father is GREATER THAN I". How can you be greater than yourself?
When Jesus prayed the "Lord's Prayer" looking into heaven, who is He praying to. When the Jesus was baptized and the heaven was opened , who was the one saying "this is my beloved son...." while he was in the river and holy spirit was seen descending?. If he is three in one. HE WAS JUST ACTING, then, making fool of people.
And if he is also the Father then He is a liar when he said in Matthew 24:36:
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, NOR THE SON but only the Father." (NIV)
He said that the Son doesn't know, if he is also the father, how come he didn't know? Is he lying?
An inevitable conclusion, they are one BUT NOT the SAME. If we are to count, three.

Think of it this way. Person X is one person as he always will be. But there are different sides to Person X. For example: Person X the Rapper, Person X the Rocket Scientist, Person X the Activist. Three different lives but the same guy...get it
In my honest view that is what the Trinity means. Three sides to one God. Unfortunately some loons out there actually think it is three different Gods. I cant really speak for them here.

There is no Trinity, it is a pagan teaching that has been adopted into many "christian" faiths.
God is one God. Jesus is God's son (separate from God). The Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit) is God's active Force that he uses to accomplish his will.
They are NOT one being. The concept of the Trinity is not bible based and is not supported by logic.
The bible constantly differentiates between God and Jesus, Jesus declared himself as God's son, and prayed to his father, not himself, was God's first creation, and declared his father greater than himself. My son will never be me, he may look like me, he may act like me, he may remind people of me, but he will never be me.
God and Jesus are one in their message and purpose just like any organized group is one in purpose and in agreement with one another. Other than that, they are separate beings.
If Jesus was God, and he died and was dead for 3 days... were we without a God for 3 days? No. If God himself was dead for 3 days, who resurrected him? God was in heaven while his son was dead for 3 days. God resurrected his son. If God and Jesus are the same, then Jesus didn't really die, and the ransom is valueless. The Trinity has more opposition in the scriptures than it does support.
God is not a mystery. How can you have a personal relationship with a mystery? You can't. The Trinity has it's roots in ancient pagan teachings of triun gods.
