Essential oil is a concentrated, hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aromatic compounds extracted from plants. It may be produced by distillation, expression, or solvent extraction.

Echinechea comes from purple coneflower. Digitalis (a heart drug) comes from foxglove. Aloe vera gel from the aloe plant. Ginko Bilboa from the Ginko bilboa tree. There are really too many to list here.
