I have a 7 and 4 yr old. Some mornings we have Frosted Mini Wheats, Eggo's, yogurt with fruit, toast with peanut butter or granola bars. It depends on the morning and how busy we are. And on special occasions there is the pancake breakfast or Dunkin Donuts. I try to have a couple of different things because they won't eat the same thing 2 days in a row and of course they won't agree on the same thing. That would be too easy.

I am a very firm believer in giving children protein for breakfast. It helped my kids stay focused at school and avoid that mid morning slump (in school, they usually recommend a protein type breakfast before important tests etc.). Yogurt is excellent. Stir in some granola and fresh strawberries, blueberries, or really any fruit.... Eggs are also great. Hardboiled, scrambled, fried egg sanwiches etc. Add a side of fruit and you are doing good. If you need something quick, get some Detour protein bars in peanut butter, they are a good out the door breakfast bar that actually tastes good, and has way more bang for the buck as far as nutrition goes compared to nutri grain bars etc. Peanut butter and apples, peanut butter on toast are good outside the box ideas. Ialso serve my kids turkey sausage as opposed to fat filled pork sausage. There are even very good meatfree "sausages" out there. Good luck, hope this all helps, it works for me!!!

My son faithfully ate Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal for breakfast from the age or 2-6. Also toast with jelly or with peanut butter & sliced bananas. Cereal with sliced fruit. The pancakes & waffles that you put in the toaster are good, but they might not be that healthly.
Good Luck!

try breakfast burritos or what about egg and sausage quesadillas. that's fun Or the pancake idea in shapes are a good idea here we scramble eggs first put em in a bowl then brown sausage crumbles put them into the same bowl with the eggs then put some shredded cheese on top and call it "motorcycle food" I don't know why we just do and my 2 year old thinks he's cool eating motorcycle food.

Cereals are quick and painless. You can find many that are good tasting as well as good for them. They can even pick if you give them the choices of the ones you want them to have. Don't know if you're looking for convenience, time saving. Vary their diet, too, so they get a good range of vitamins and minerals here and there. Throw in fiber/fruit when you can to encourage good regularity, too.

Buffet style! I make mini pancakes ( finger food size), put a bunch on a large dinner plate, give them a tiny dish of syrup for dunking, cut up fruit and put it on a large dinner plate,2 pieces of whole wheat toast cut up into quarters ( or you can use fun cookies cutters) once again on a plate, then sit all of that on the middle of the diningroom/kitchen table, give them each a small plate, and ask them to help themselves, and tell them to make sure they share. ( eventhough you know they won't)
Tada! They will eat! Give them no rules, ( no cutlery, no manners) Busy yourself with other things

My children love pancakes, I even use the sugar free syrup and they don't even know the difference. Scrambled eggs, toast with sugar free jelly and fruit, make them a delicious fruit salad.
