I want to buy my fiance a truck.... as a surprise... I have no knowledge of trucks/buying them AT ALL -- can you give me some adivice and pointers? Which make/model? What should I watch out for??? HELP!

I'm a little biast and like American made... But i'm not a big fan of Ford. As for trucks... I like them to have room, but then I don't like them too big (so you can actually park them... in your garage at home) so if it were up to me, It would be between a Toyota Tacoma or a Dodge Dakota. I lean more towards the Dakota because for it's size, it comes with a whopping V-8 and is capable of towing big things. I think they both are nice looking on both the inside and the outside... but you gotta take into consideration what you're gonna need the truck for. If it's just because, go for a lower end one, but if you're gonna have fun with it, make sure you get a 4x4.

What size does he need?
Small/Med: I like the Dodge Dakota or Tacoma.
Med/Reg: F-150
Reg/Lag: F-250, and if you want lots of power get the diesel.

I have a 2000 F-150. It has over 290,000 miles on it and still runs like a champ.

I feel that the best truck is mine . 1966 Dodge d300 , great truck and has been dependable since the day it was made. I has never broken down or let our family down since my dad bought it new. then I bought it from him........
