Many evangelical Christians believe that Israel is a special holy land so that it's different from the rest of the world.

Many also believe a bible verse that says, "When they say 'There is peace, then shall the destruction come'," meaning that peace in Israel would only signify the end of the world.

Could these beliefs work to create a foreign policy that seeks to protect Israel on one hand (god's chosen), but keep it destabilized on the other (ie, maintaining low-level skirmishes to prevent the apocalypese, which is preceded by peace)?

No, it's not 'evangelical religious beliefs' that influences Israeli foreign policy. It's zionism and jewish money fed to our Congress through the likes of AIPAC.

Though politically incorrect, it is FACTUALLY correct that these same jewish influences control the media both in the United States and globally.

Our foreign policy regarding Israel and the middle is not so much a result of 'influence' of our body politic, but the result of a devious trap. The trap being either accept money from jewish controlled lobbies and allow us to dictate policy OR we'll destroy you in the media.

It's the same type of trap a drug dealer would offer to a potential witness against him. Either take my payoff or I will make life very difficult or dangerous for you and your family.

None of this has anything to do with Christian evangelism.

So my answer to your question in one word is no.

The Christians have a knee-jerk reaction to Isreal. Couple that with big-money Jewish influence Isreal will continue to run rough shod over their neighbores. I'd like to see those dwarfs push their weight around without US military and financial backing.

its quite possible

its interesting to note though that the United States only started supporting financially after the 67 war.

that means that Israel successfully won to wars without American help.

There is a rumor that the evangelicists are pushing for more and more war in the Middle East, thinking that it will hasten the end times.

I dontr think so. I think America's FP on Israel stems from WW2 and the Cold War.

I think it has more to do with support of democracy in an area that doesn't have very many democratic governments

As long as the Moron and his minions govern, YES. They want to dictate to the fundamentalist sheep to get their vote - something that requires no effort - but they want to hang on to their material wealth. Absolutely.
