i can understand him wanting us to have faith in Him or to have faith that he has a plan, but why would he want us to believe without evidence that he died for our sins?

did you read the question or is that just what you always answer.
Why does he need to test our faith?

God wants NOTHING, because God is EVERYTHING. You are the one who wants to have faith, and that which you want you do not have.

No other religion has more evidence then Christianity. The bible has strong archeological footing...such as cities and civilizations. Go over to the east, and you'll see. God gives you the ability to believe and have faith in him...in return you have eternal hope and a much life! Think about the wars, politics, natural disasters, and illnesses. Some people freak out and worry. But Christians know that they can stand in the midst of the storm "have faith" and everrything will be alright.
I pray you'll find a deeper understanding of Christ. In times like this he is and will be needed the most...

I wonder the same thing i mean if he really does exsit (which I think he does) then y doesnt he just talk to us. Like everyone at the same time..then we would all know that once and for all he is here and he does care and he really is the way, the truth, and the light. Wouldn't he have more followers that way and the world be at peace that way. Because we would all see really that there is a heaven and Hell and no one would be signing up to go the latter so everyone would be peaceful and sin free. If he would aonly talk to u s tha twould solve everything.
Not just talk to those few people who kill and say God told them to do it...

I was working one day and the woman at the machine next to me was a born again Christian. I was kind of arguing with her about religion. For some reason I went up to her and whispered every curse word I could think of and then some. I was appalled at what I was doing, yet I did it. I don't remember what she said, but I ended up standing at my own machine asking God with every thing within me for forgiveness for all my sins and to come into my heart.
The feeling I experienced with tears streaming down my face was like nothing I had ever felt before or since. I could actually feel the weight of my sins lift off my shoulders. The joy, the love, the peace, the feeling of belonging to God was so wonderful I will never ever forget it. That was my proof of His existence.
Later on I asked the same woman why no one noticed what was going, and why we didn't get disciplinary action against us for stopping work. She told me God sent angels to spread their wings around us to shield us. I believe that with all my heart too.
For anyone who thinks God doesn't exist, and I am not saying here that you don't but for anyone reading this, what have you got to lose then by asking His forgiveness and inviting Him into your heart? If He doesn't exist you've only lost a minute of your time, if He does exist, you've gained eternity with Him.
May God bless all who read this.

There is no evidence that ´he´ died for our sins.
It´s an archetype in-bedded in our common unconscious.
in different religions you can learn about a god dying or being sacrificed before being of some utility for humanity.
So just try to be a good person, at least not doing to others what you don´t like them do to you, and knowing there´s a father within you that provides what you need in the way you need it.

I am reminded by my friend's statement : to see is to believe. its at par with yor question What I can only say is that God wants us to have faith in his existence because it is the only way to have the faith. The Faith that could do a great deal and could give us the miracle we needed. Just like the wind, we may not see it but we believe in its existence because we feel it. We cannot see the electricity but we believe that there is one that is why i am answering your question now thru the net. but most of all we cannot see love but we believe in its existence because we could give up our life for somebody. God wants us to have faith in his existence because his breathe is our breathe--he made us according to his image. Having faith in his existence is having faith in yourself.

I think its because it pleases Him when we take Him at His Word. But, really, there is plenty of proof of His existence for a Christian. The indwelling Holy Spirit is always doing things and teaching things that proves its not us. But if you are not living in the Spirit you may not experience this. Jesus said that you have not because you ask not. When I pray in the morning I ask God to fill me for this Day with His Holy Spirit. Then I wait receptively. After a few moments I feel His Presence fill me...to me is asking for my daily bread. I want to live in His power and wisdom every day, not my own. Ask!

You presume there is no evidence. If you ignore the Bible, there is still more historical record and evidence of the life and death of Jesus Christ than that of Julius Ceasar. There are many Roman records of that time in which philosophers discuss Jesus and His teachings. There are fragmentary court records and court records which later refer to His death.
If God created us, as I believe, then certainly He wants us to believe He exists.
