This guy who was trying to date me was always bragging about the big house with a pool that he lives in. He's never been married, brags about how much money he has, was always giving me small amounts of money- a ten here, a twenty there. Well, when the topic of starting a relationship came up, he said that since he lives so far away, the only way that we can be together is if he moves in with me (in the projects). Why would he "rent out" a fabulous house to come stay with me in the projects? I'm trying to go to his castle but he wants to come live in the village with me. What's wrong with this picture?

tell him you would like to spend the weekend at his castle and swim in his pool. either you will meet his mother or you will never get to what doesn't exist sounds more to me like he is playing you.

Your question and the details does not match.
When he feels that he is a grown up man, then he leave his mother in search of a female companion.
If he is normal, this naturally happens.
If he wants to live away from his castles, it is understood, he is not interested either his mother or anybody else to interfere in his private life.
Why can't you take him away and enjoy your life in a serene atmosphere?

He's either lying about the big house to impress u, or he's embarrassed to say he still lives @ home. Just ask him to tell you the truth.
