i toured Canada twice in a motor home. We started in Toronto and went north to wasaga beach. Its like a beach resort on the shore of the great lake. Then continue north to Manitoulin island and take the ferry. Its dead easy getting around and the campsites are fantastic. Get a good campsite guide so you can cherry pick the best campsites. People are fantastic over there.YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED! HAVE A GOOD TRIP!
p.s
Niagra Falls is the perfect place to finish your jourey.

Can i join your journey?!?? Canada is a place like no other!!!! Halifax is a must (my favourite city still)... Peggy's Cove and Cape Breton too, Newfoundland, Of course don't bypass Prince Edward Island (there are cars on PEI)... it is the Iles de Madeline that have minimal traffic (part of quebec, but easiest access from PEI). In PEI--- charlottetown, Georgetown, a drive through the country--also a trip to the shore (red sand on the beach) check out some of the local Anne of Green Gables culture AND the Bagpipping college in summerside. Ontario: Niagara Falls and Windsor are really great too. There are great places with Mounties between Ontario and Brittish Columbia I dont know aboouut. Make sure you also see Victoria Island just outside of Vancouver. From what I hear it is the most beautiful place in North America!!!!! To enhance the experience... get yourself a CD while in the Maritimes (PEI, NF, NS and NB) of old folk songs might I suggest "A Taste of the Maritimes." I drove my friend crazy listening to these songs or read Anne of Green Gables or another of Lucy Maud Montgomery's books to enhance Pei.

Depends where you are now. To really appreciate the diversity and beauty of Canada, if you are on the west coast, fly to Vancouver, rent your RV there, take a day to tour Vancouver Island. Drive through the Okanagan Valley of B.C.head east to Calgary, visiting Lake Louise and Baniff. Head north to Edmonton, take the Yellowhead Highway(16East) to outside Winnepeg, visiting the Battlefords of Saskatchewan , Saskatoon. From Winnepeg, on to Thunder Bay, Ontario where you get to make a choice if you are coming further east, the northern route, less traffic and tourists, or along the Great lakes through Sault Ste. Marie. Either route takes you to North Bay, Ont, where again you decide, south to Toronto, Niagara region or east to Ottawa, then Montreal. Southern Ontario is very muggy in the summer. From Montreal take highway 20 east to Quebec City, cross the St. Lawrence there and on to New Brunswick. In the Maritime provinces, New Brunswick, has the tidal bore, magnectic hill, reversing falls, Prince edward Island has the best beaches in Canada, lots of golf courses as well, Nova Scotia has the Cabot Trail , the Annapolis Valley and the ferry to Newfoundland. Whole trip to really enjoy it can be done in about a month, depending on how long you stay in each area. 3,000 miles from Okanagan Valley to Prince Edward Island. Tim Horton coffee shops all along the way. Can run into snow through the Rocky Mountains anytime after Sept 1st at the higher elevations, most of the country has decent weather into October, although the far North sees snow in September usually.Enjoy your holiday.FOR MORTILYN

MUST be Toronto! Simple to get around! There are books from the AA that you can buy from WHSmith that tell you about Toronto and Calgary and Banff. You must go to Calgary, it's BEAUTIFUL! But it's alot of driving from Toronto. OH! When you're in the city, go to Prince Edward Island. You can only get the ferry over and it's relatively cheap... It's a nice day out. You can rent boats, or bikes or anything, no cars on the island - it's the best!
Alternatively, go on www.tripadvisor.com and type in Canada, there are people who can tell you the BEST places to go!

Ignore what Susan said there "You must go to Calgary, it's BEAUTIFUL! But it's alot of driving from Toronto. OH! When you're in the city, go to Prince Edward Island. You can only get the ferry over and it's relatively cheap..." To get to Prince Edward Island from 'the city' and she was talking about Toronto, is NOT a ferry ride away. Toronto is east of central Canada, while Prince Edward Island is in Eastern Canada, a few days drive away.

Depends what you are intrested in. If you just want to see the major cities, Start in Quebec city and from there go to Toronto, Montreal and start going west. But if you want to see all of the beauties of Canada, start from New found land and start going west. Get to Toronto A.S.A.P. because in the next few weeks there are a lot of events going on.

Take out a loan for gas money and start in the east because if you start in BC you'll never want to leave.
