my bf took a test this morning and they said it would take two min. and after the two min they told him he was free to go so he has no idea if he passed or failed

It depends what type of test he took. If it was a standard NIDA 5 drug test (Only tests for THC, Cocaine, Amphetamines, Opiates, and PCP), it can be done immediately on site with a piece of specially designed lithmus paper. If it is a full blown drug test that tests for everything including lsd, narcotics, etc, then it must be done in a laboratory. If the laboratory is near by, the results should be back in 2-3 days. If they have to mail it out, it will take longer obviously. Also, what type of drug test did he have? Urine, Blood, Saliva, Hair? And since I am sure someone is going to mention it, lsd is detectable through urine tests it does not require a spinal tap. It is only detectable from use to 24 hours later by urine, a spinal tap is only used after that time period or to determine chronic abuse.

It usually takes anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks to get the results back. If it was for a job they sometimes go ahead and hire you and wait for the test results if you passed you keep the job and if you failed you are fired on the spot. If he doesn't take or use drugs he has absolutely nothing to worry about.
Most tests now a days test for 5 things:
1. Marijuana
2. cocaine
3. amphetamines
4. codeine
5. angel dust
If you don't do or take any of these you should be safe.

No, they don't tell you right then and there. They have to send it to a lab (if it wasn't already at a lab). It has to be tested.
If the test was for a job, the employer will know about it before he does.
Besides, he should know whether or not he'll pass.
Here's an idea: Don't Do Drugs!

Results are not instant. They take a few days. In some states, it's the law for the doctor to inform the paitent by phone if he has failed, before the doctor informs whomever hired him (a company, employer, etc.).

they have a new test out that can tell right on the spot because i had to take one to get my job and the just stick it right in the pee and it tells them if you pass or not but if they did the other takes a couple of days if he did not do anything he's good good luck

There are tests that can be done imediate(which you can by), but most have to go to a lab. Depending on the lab, type of test and how busy they are it can take weeks to receive the results.

he's has no longer that solid of a brilliant gamble on passing.... you need to purchase detoxs and that i propose you to get those to your bf. Marijuana will probaly stay in his gadget for a least each week, and if that wasn't the 1st time in a protracted time it is going to stay in plenty longer. he's 5'11 and 210 pounds? if it is in many circumstances muscle he's okay, however the greater fat you have the time would be doubled, via fact the only place THC (marijuana) is saved on your physique is the fat cells. i might...ehh idk desire i helped
