My Mom thought she had insurance and it was not mature. She was very sick for months and since I am an only child I was the primary care giver. I know she died with the peace that I would not be burdened with the bill, but I am. I don't make alot of money and I am worred to death about paying this bill. If anyone know what I can do, please help. God bless you.

In addition to the suggestions above, I suggest you discuss your situation with your or your mother's church leadership. They will probably be able to help.

If you cannot afford a funeral, here's what you might do. Have the body cremated (About $350 in Massachusetts; ask for quote) and placed in a cheaper urn. Have a memorial service at your church (about $100 donation at a Catholic Church), and either scatter the ashes in your mom's favorite place, or save up the money and bury your mother in a plot once you can afford it. My mother is saving to bury my grandfather this way. Hope this helps. My sympathies are with you.

Contact the insurance commissoner's office in the state where your mother resided when she purchased the insurance. You can file a written complaint and ask that it investigate the legality of the insurer's claim denial. Here's a link to all the insurance commissioner's offices throughout the U.S.: http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm

My sympathies are with you.
You're going to have to cut costs as much as possible.
I would ask for help from her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, and if you belong to a church ask the pastor.
