April 1506 - Portugal
"On the same day on which the Conversos (Jews who were forced to convert to christianity) were liberated, the Dominicans displayed in a side-chapel of their church, where several New Christians were present, a crucifix and a reliquary in glass from which a peculiar light issued. A New Christian, who was so incautious as to explain this ostensible miracle as being due to natural causes, was dragged from the church and was killed by an infuriated woman. A Dominican roused the populace still more; and two others, crucifix in hand, went through the streets of the city, crying "Heresy!" and calling upon the people to destroy the Marranos. All New Christians found in the streets were killed; and a terrible massacre ensued.

More than 500 Conversos were slain and burned on the first day; and the scenes of murder were even more atrocious on the day following. The innocent victims of popular fury, young and old, living and dead, were dragged from their houses and thrown upon the pyre. Even Old Christians who in any way resembled Conversos were killed.

Of course Jesus would not do that. You are speaking of evil works by evil men.

Y'know, if someone steals the uniform of a policeman and then murders 20 people wearing that uniform, does that make the police corrupt?? (HINT: Answer is no).

Jesus was Jewish, so obviously this is not what He would do. We committed many crimes in His name, but He didn't commit those crimes, we did. Christianity has evolved to the point of a bit of common sense, but during the inquisition and the crusades, there were fanatics, much like the militant muslims rampaging thru Africa right now, maiming and killing everywhere they went. The thing about history is how much we can learn from past mistakes, but unfortunately, we don't always learn. These are human sins, not His.

How can you be forced to be christian, and slain a day later for being a convert?
That makes about as much sense as Jesus saying he was a Jehovah's Witness or a Mormon... (Yeah Right)

Put simply, Jesus was not a Violent man, he never held or carried a sword, and was never trained as a suicidal Bomber...
Hmmm... thats right they didn't have Explosives back then...
Good thing too!

Jesus was a peaceful man (son of God). People take things and twist in order to fit their own craziness. This comes from Satan trying to divide us from God. Jesus didn't say "go out to the world and kill those who don't believe in me." He said "go out to the world and preach the Word that has been taught to you so that those who believe in me will have eternal life." It's very said how fanatics, not of one but many religions twist words and many have to suffer and/or deny the Word.

Mahatma Ghandi once said: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are not like your Christ." I am a Catholic Christian, but I do not claim that the Church is perfect.

All religions are extreme. Their use of "Faith" allows them to commit the most violent and repressive acts that human can inflict on another human being. See - Inquisition, Fatwa, Crusade, Jihad, Witch Burning .............. ................
