So I had a D&C on June 30th...bled for almost a week, then just light brown spotting... on July 19th there were all signs of my menstrual cycle...red dark blood, odor, had a headache the night prior, cramps on that day.. then it stopped that night and I'm back to the brown spotting. Would I consider this a cycle? Is it normal for your period to be light and only last a day? My normal cycles would last about 4 days.

It worries me to see all these woman asking all of these basic questions about their bodies and their cycles….and then getting all these different answers – and usually most of these answers are WRONG!
This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

The recovery period following D&C is short, and most women are able to return to normal activities within 1 to 2 days.

During the recovery period:

* Mild pelvic cramping may occur for a few hours.
* A slight vaginal discharge may occur.
* Intercourse, douching, and the use of tampons are not usually permitted for 2 weeks.
* Your next menstrual period may be early or late.

Taken from WebMD. It sounds like your body is still recovering from the D&C and you should return to normal fairly soon. Of course if you have any signs of infection, fever, body aches, etc. you should go back to your OB/GYN. You might want to give them a call for peace of mind, anyway, and let them know what happened, and then they can advise from there.

hi, Sage. Pheromones look probably, yet i do not comprehend of any conclusive analyze. both menstruation and menarche may be stricken by using close association with adult adult males and women. Many postulations about the end result are dependent on survival and reproduction, even aggressive reproduction. for my section, i'd imagine reproduction and aggressive reproduction are the most probably. i could not parent how survival may come into play, except it changed into some thing like faculties of fish: it is idea that small fish who vacation in faculties make extra sturdy objectives; their circulate causes flashing, which pulls interest in diverse instructions, supposedly so a predator couldn't keep on with one purpose. in addition, even as menstrual cycles sync, each of the ladies interior the team get bitchy at the same time, making it almost no longer plausible for a guy to unmarried out one in all them for retaliation. the guy turns into wondered, stymied, supplies up and both swims off into the abyss to think about his existence, or seashores on a sand bar till first light with his guy friends. ~Os
